Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Fashion Monday} Two blacks & Some Colour

Two blacks and some colour

Two blacks and some colour

I have mentioned many a time that I am not the most fashionable person around. I dress simple, I am dress for comfort and I dress for me more than style or the world. When I put outfits together mostly I do them in the dark (don’t really put much thought into it) and 90% of the time the outfit is good ‘enough’.

The two blacks and some colour outfit is something I didn’t even think about until Wednesday last week when I realised that since the weather took a turn for the worst I subconsciously changed my attire to wearing more blacks with pop of colour. Monday and Wednesday saw me wear a black top and black pants (trousers) and what was different was for Monday I added my beige jacket and on Wednesday I added a yellow jacket (both from New Look). Since the weather is still pretty cold I paired these outfits with black knee-high boots with the yellow blazer and ankle boots to go with the beige blazer. I also paired these outfits with a blue bag I purchased from Ratuken and I think it went well together, I figured I had too much black on so maybe a another dark colour would be better as it would still allow the blazers to stand-out.

For the past 12 months I have loved adding some colour to my outfits, it always brightens up my mood when I wear colours that pop like yellow, sky-blue, orange, red even some green. I have also noticed that when I dress in all dark colours I will be in more of a sad mood (foul mood) than a happy mood.

I wish that every time I like an outfit or pinned one on pinterest that it would somehow magically appear in my closet the next day (I know big wish).

What colours are you playing with lately? Any bright colours?

With very limited space in my closet, I have been buying more mix and match items. These are really cute and I love the colors. I should wear these colors more.

These are some really nice mix and match items. It is important to me when buying out fits to make sure I can mix and match them with each other as well as accessories. I love the yellow blazer and I believe in adding the colors too because it does change the mood.

I love black, white, and gray and my closet shows it. As the Spring is starting to peek in I am looking to add more color specifically pastels but it is so hard because I really do like black, white and gray!

I think colour is so important, especially in the winter months. The days can be dark and deoressing so I like to add something bright just to keep me feeling cheerful.

I’m a colors kind of gal, it has been unseasonably warm in DC so I’ve enjoyed that. In the winter I tend to stick with grays and color, not sure why. I love bright bold colors and prints. They make me feel good.

You don’t sound very unfashionable- matter of fact, that lineup sounds downright spiffy! Babushka is all about colors and patterns so she would have added an outrageously loud scarf somewhere in there. But that’s just BB.
