Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

April Must Haves

Now that Spring is well underway I thought it was the perfect time for me to share my April Must Haves list. This month I am focusing on things that I need for my planned travels this month. When you read my January, February and March Must Haves lists, you will notice that they all vary every month.

April Must Haves

April Must Haves

As mentiond already, this month is is a month of travels. I am currently in Oslo, Norway and heading to Seoul, South Korea in a weeks time. The April Must Haves list contains items that I need for my holiday(s), some of these items I have already maybe just need to check they still fit (shorts and shoes).

Straw hat – Seoul is already hot this time of the year. It is Spring time there too but if you have unpredictable weather like the UK anything above 20 degrees is way too hot. I have a couple of Straw hats but I still loving getting a new one every year as you can never have too many.

Sunglasses – Like straw hats, you can never have too many sunglasses. I have a favourite pair which I got from my wantable accessories box a while back but they got broken by my nephew in Zambia and I have been wanting to replace them for 2 years now just never found the perfect ones. A few weeks back I visited my favourite store New Look and found a couple of glasses that I have been rocking lately.

Sunscreen  – I have mentioned before about my ignorance when it came to sunscreen. I always thought only light skinned people needed it not those of us with a lot of melanin in our skins but that’s not true, we all need protection from the sun maybe light skinned folks need it more than dark skinned folks but end of the day we all need it. I have sp50 whenever I go somewhere hot to protect my skin.

Beach (Tote) Bag – Beach bag is deceitful for this April Must Haves list but I think we all need tote bags. I love having big bags when on holiday as I don’t like holding too many things in my hands so a huge bag saves the day for me. I do love crossover bags but that’s for when I know we’ll only be sightseeing, eating and NOT shopping.

Holiday outfit – You know I love putting outfits together so I wasn’t going to miss a chance to share my go to holiday outfit. Like I said I know Seoul will be hot (Oslo is still cold), so a nice pair of shorts (from daisy Dukes to anything you fancy), wedges and a nice crop top fits the bill. If you’re like me and are padded not flat iron on the tummy area then any string top will do.

These are my April Must Haves items, what has made your list? Do you have a specific goto outfit? What’s your choice of bag when on holiday (outside diaper bags for mummies/daddies)?

in this scorching weather we’re having, there is no way i am heading out the door without my sunnies and without slathering a good amount of sunscreen on me. summer’s in full swing where i am from. yup, a bag is also handy for all our summer/travel essentials, although, i am more of a body bag kinda gal.

My favorite go to bag when I’m traveling is my water proof pink backpack. I often travel alone and I always have a camera with several accessories. I don’t really have a go two outfits as everywhere I travel seems to have a different climate depending on where it is and the time of year. I do plan far in advance when I travel and sunscreen and sunglasses are always on the list. I actually have a spare set of sunglasses that I keep in my carry-on at all times.

I am a lone traveler too and you’re right is difficult to have to go outfits when the weather is usually different everywhere
