Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Father’s Day 2017 Gift Ideas

Father’s Day 2017 will soon be upon us and if you’re anything like me you’re still searching for the prefect present. Last year I asked my dad what he wanted for Father’s Day and the list wasn’t surprising at all. This year I have gone back to the usual, scouring my brains for what I could gift my father. He is a simple man but still very difficult to shop for and he rarely asks for things. If you’re in the same situation as me and need some ideas, I have a couple that I am exploring.

Father’s Day 2017 Gift Ideas

Perfume, my father loves his old spice perfume and has done for many years. My mum always swears by it and always picks him a couple for all occasions. He stocks them so that he never runs out, it’s actually quite funny you would think it was going out of Fashion. So my idea for you is to find something your father (or partner) loves and buy in bulk.

Socks, I don’t know if it’s just my family but my father buys socks every month. Somehow they go walkabouts between the washing basket and the washing machine. It boogers me how that happens but definitely a must have on every list for every occasion.

Wrist Watch

It is no secret that I would like to buy my father and myself a wooden watch. In the last few years wood watches have been the must have item, Tense Wooden Watches have the ones we want. I have checked out the website and in awe of the gorgeous wrist watches and I know my father would definitely love to have one. I am also exploring other companies that are specializing in wooden watches and hope to purchase one soon.

Shaving set

Every single list my father writes for the items he needs always has a shaving set. He goes through them like toilet paper and no one understands how but he does. We’ve tried sets from Braun, Gillette and now looking at other brands. He likes a clean shave and never lets his beard grow an inch same with his head. Not sure when it happened but he prefers being bold to having a head of hair so shavers are a must.

There are so many other gift ideas one can consider but for me this Father’s Day 2017, these are the items I am considering. What’s on your list?
