Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

October 2019 Collaborations | Sponsor Roundup

As the month comes to a close, it’s time to share the October 2019 Collaborations that we’ve had in the ending month. It has become somewhat a tradition of mine to allocate at least one extra post to the various sponsors that we’ve worked with in the ending month.

The month of October 2019 has been such a busy month with incredible collaborations from various brands and companies. I am excited to reshare all the wonderful October 2019 collaborations that we’ve enjoyed this month. I do not take for granted these wonderful opportunities that have come my way but are rather grateful and humbled every single month.

October 2019 Collaborations

If you’re a brand or PR and want to collaborate with us on A July Dreamer, please reach out. Visit our Work with Me page for more details on the types of collaborations we offer. We accept collaborations in the following areas; Lifestyle, Travel, Fashion, Food+Drink and Beauty.

October 2019 Collaborations | Sponsor Roundup

October 2019 has been an incredibly business month of both travels and blog collaborations. Unlike September 2019 which was a fairly quiet month, October has been by far the busiest month in terms of collaborations that we’ve had. In terms of travel, I shared content on the city that never sleeps – New York which gave another view of the city forsaking the popular tourist destinations.

It is always refreshing to share the content of a popular destination highlight the not so popular sights that are both the definition of the city but also something different. Speaking of something different, I shared another piece of content about the Lake District that had me thinking. I have never thought about visiting the Lake District during Winter, its just not the done thing.

Speaking of winter, I have been secretly planning my winter escapes and looking for some winter sun. Often when I travel abroad during winter, it’s to colder climates because most are cheaper around that time of year. Speaking of cheaper destinations when the temperatures drop, I popped over to Madrid for a couple of days to catch the last of the summer sun and had an amazing opportunity to collaborate with Hilton hotels.

Another thing to think about whenever I am travelling is how eco-friendly are my travels, and not only that but how eco-friendly is my fashion. Climate change is no longer a myth, its time we took action where we can. For example, you can forgo a trip abroad and instead check out the lesser-known UK destinations using public transport.

Other collaborations that we enjoyed in October including having the incredible people at Fantastic Services in Oxford come to give my home spruce of life. They did an amazing job cleaning my entire home in less than 2 hours and everything still looks amazing 3 weeks later. You can use my code ‘ajulydreamer‘ for a discount on home cleaning service within the UK.

add home finishing touches

I also had an opportunity to visit the SEH BAC showroom in Abingdon where I learned about the company and some of the products they have and services that they offer. If you’re looking to replace your windows, doors or even install a conservatory, they are your people.

And for those who at the moment can not afford a full renovation but want to make some simple changes to their home them adding these home furnishings will definitely give your home that ‘new look’ without the price tag. I think accessorizing your home every season is the best and cheapest way to spruce up your home.

Other Sponsor Collaborations

As the temperatures continue to drop and Christmas a few short weeks away, we have to start thinking about how best to protect ourselves during the cold season. Specifically, ensuring that our cars are ready for the harsh conditions and thinking about whether we need to change our tyres ahead of time.

Christmas Festive Checklist

Speaking of Christmas, its time to start thinking about doing your shopping list and buying presents ahead of time. We shared a wonderful Christmas checklist that you can use to get yourselves organised in time for the festive celebrations. And no festivities are complete without cake, the lovely people at Sponge Cakes make the best cakes ever.

October has been an incredibly busy month for us and we are very excited to see what November 2019 has in store. Thank you all for supporting the brands that support us and for your continued support of A July Dreamer.

You seem to have had an incredibly busy month. I would love to visit New York in the Autumn and also some one come to clean my house. I would have to tidy it first.
