Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

30 Countries Before 30 Complete!  – The Travel Challenge

Yes!! You read it correctly, I completed the 30 countries Before 30 travel challenge I started back in 2015. At first I felt like I was setting myself up for failure as I wasn’t traveling much back then. Then 2016 came and I managed to travel to at least once a month to complete my #take12trips travel challenge. I must admit the feeling of accomplishing such important travel goals in my life is incomparable to anything so far.

The quote, everything you want is on the other side of fear has never been more truer than it has been in the last 2 years. I stepped out of my comfort zone, tested the waters and explored the world with new resilience. Don’t get me wrong, I was pretty scared shitless sometimes but I never gave up on my goal.

Everyone will always tell you what you should be doing at your age but only you know what’s right for you. When people learn I am 30, no kids or husband they remind me of my clicking time clock on fertility. What these people don’t know is I am my own worst critic but I silence that inner voice for the happier me. I am happy where I am at in life and though I am ready for the next step, I won’t rush it for anyone but me.

The goal of visiting 30 Countries Before 30 has been accomplished, so where exactly did I make it to. I am sure you read 30 countries before 30 thus far and kept up with my mini updates. If not, let me share where my passport took me.

30 Countries Before 30 complete

Technically I have been to 35 Countries but I had shared my reasons for not counting 5 of those countries. To make this a fair assessment I will share the 30 countries I have visited in the last 2 years when I started this challenge.

  1. South Korea 🇰🇷  {Seoul}
  2. Spain {Malaga}
  3. United States of America 🇺🇸 {New Jersey, New York}
  4. Lithuania 🇱🇹  {Kaunas, Kedainiai and Vilnius}
  5. Slovenia 🇸🇮 {Ljubljana, Primostek and Bled}
  6. Czech Republic 🇨🇿 {Prague and Brno}
  7. Poland 🇵🇱  {Warsaw}
  8. Belgium 🇧🇪 {Brussels} brussels
  9. France 🇫🇷 {Paris and Nice}
  10. Netherlands 🇳🇱 {Amsterdam}
  11. Austria 🇦🇹 {Vienna}
  12. Slovakia 🇸🇰 {Bratislava} #take12trips
  13. Norway 🇳🇴 {Rygge and Oslo}
  14. Denmark 🇩🇰 {Copenhagen}
  15. Sweden 🇸🇪 {Stockholm}
  16. Ireland 🇮🇪 {Dublin} Dublin
  17. United Kingdom 🇬🇧 {England, Scotland and Wales}
  18. South Africa 🇿🇦 {Johannesburg and Pretoria}
  19. Cyprus 🇨🇾 {Limassol, Nicosia, Paphos, Larnaca}
  20. Italy 🇮🇹 {Milan and Venice}
  21. Hungary 🇭🇺 {Budapest}
  22. Romania 🇷🇴 {Bucharest and Transylvania}
  23. Switzerland 🇨🇭 {Basel and Lucern}
  24. Germany 🇩🇪 {Dusseldorf, Munich, Hamburg & Berlin}Hamburg
  25. Monaco 🇲🇨 {Monte Carlo}
  26. Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 {Dubai}
  27. Qatar 🇶🇦 {Doha}
  28. Malawi 🇲🇼 {Lilongwe and Blantyre}
  29. Zambia 🇿🇲 {Lusaka and Copperbelt}
  30. Indonesia 🇮🇩 {Bali}

The travel challenge 30 countries before 30 complete {d}, it took a lot of hard work and sacrifice to achieve it. I am not sure if I should start celebrating such an accomplishment or be sad it’s ended. It is very confusing at the moment, I didn’t want it to end but I still wanted to achieve it. The only way to curb this desire is to start another travel challenge. I am thinking of re-doing the #take12trips challenge, again I won’t wait for January 2018 but will start 2017. {Watch this space!!!}

    Wow. You are amazing! I wish I could do that too but I am tied down with family responsibilities that makes me home bound. The only places I go to are the supermarket, and the drugstore. Maybe someday I can do as you did. Maybe someday…

    Wow! that indeed is a great achievement. I am sure this is the first step and the remaining countries will fall in line much more quickly. Looking forward to your next milestone.

    love this challenge! you will have MANY wonderful stories to share with everyone over all the years of your life (tell your stories over and over again so they will stay a memory forever)! I wish I could do something like this (I’ll have to wait for my kids to grow up more… maybe when I’m an empty nester!) thanks for the inspiration, makes me want to get out and explore the world ; )

    That is awesome! What an accomplishment! I love to travel and if I could I would do as much traveling as you are here. I have been to quite a few countries but I can never say at least at this point that I’ve been to 30 different countries. That is so cool.
