Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

5 Ways to Instantly Improve your Bathroom

Bathroom renovations are usually top on the list when people are looking to add value to their home.  After all, after a busy day at work or with the kids – it can be a much-needed place of relaxation.  We’ve listed ways you can improve your bathroom as a relaxing place that could potentially add value to your home.

Make Use of the Space you Have

One of the most common issues people have when designing their bathroom is making the most of the space.  If you have a small bathroom, there are lots of ways to make it seem bigger. Either install a corner sink as opposed or have large mirrors to create the illusion of space. Both of these tips to give the illusion of more space in a small bathroom. Also having a feature mirror can be a great addition to your room.

Make your Bathroom as Safe as Possible

When remodelling your bathroom, you need to think about prospective buyers should you ever come to sell your home. Making your bathroom as accessible as possible could end up being a deciding factor whether someone wants to purchase your home.  This could be doing anything from installing a walk-in shower, to making sure there are no slip or trip hazards.  Some great expert recommended ideas on how to do this, you should have a read of the following article by Mobility Plus: https://www.mobility-plus.co.uk/blog/making-bathroom-more-accessible/.

Make it as Bright as Possible

Bright open spaces are what all homeowners are looking for these days, so it’s a good idea to make the most of any light possible.  Again, if your bathroom is on the smaller side – this could make it look much larger.  There are lots of different ways in which you could do this such as installing windows or skylights – or even having a feature light in your bathroom.  In some of the more modern bathroom designs, you will also see lots of different finishes that have reflective surfaces making things look much brighter.

Be as Green as you Can

If you are redesigning or remodeling your bathroom, you should make sure that you have the environment in mind when doing so.  You can do this by making sur you have water saving shower heads and faucets, low-flow toilets etc.  These tend to cost the same as traditional ones and have the added advantage of being more environmentally friendly.  You can also look on sites such as Etsy for some upcycling design ideas that you can implement yourself.

Update your Fixtures and Fittings

If you don’t want to go all out and remodel or redesign your whole bathroom– then there are much more cost-effective options that you can look in to.  These can be really simple ideas such as freshening your grout.  This is a simple thing but have a dramatic improvement on how your bathroom looks. Updating your fixtures such as towel racks, faucets, drawer pulls etc are a low investment but can give your bathroom a whole new look and feel.  Even changing the colour of your towels – can make it look like a completely different room.

If you are thinking of making a change to your bathroom for personal enjoyment – or with the view of adding value to your home – hopefully these ideas will come in handy.
