9 Things to love about Autumn 2018

With Autumn coming to an end, I thought I share 9 things to love about autumn. November is the last month of autumn and there is so much I wanted to do that I didn’t. There are small and simple things that I did that makes me love Autumn even more.

Whilst the list of 9 things to love about autumn is not comprehensive, it is certainly a start. The weather of late has been colder than usual and anyone would mistake it for winter. Winter is not my favourite season but I am looking forward to snuggles throughout the season. But before then, here are 9 things to love about Autumn.

9 Things to love about Autumn

Though officially autumn doesn’t end until December 21st, November is considered the last month of autumn. The leaves have all changed colours, harvest time is almost done and cooler temperatures are subsiding.

With these 9 things to love about autumn, we can make the most of what’s left. When I am not travelling abroad, I make a point of using my weekends to explore within the UK. This autumn, I have been visiting National Trust properties as part of my local adventures series on the blog. Apart from that, I have at least 9 things that I love about autumn.

Homemade Hot Chocolate

There is nothing I love more than making a cup of hot chocolate at home and sipping it as I look out the window. Whilst I drink it all year round, autumn seems to be the one month I drink it often. At work, I have my Cadbury hot chocolate powder that I use to make a nice cuppa whilst I work.

Quite dinners by the fire

I don’t have a fireplace in my apartment but I bought an artificial one which I love years back. I love switching off the main lights and enjoy my dinner with only my artificial fireplace. A few times I have opted to have dinner at the local pub where they have a nice fireplace.

Long Walks in Forest or Fields

Its been a while since I last did a forest walk, it was the most therapeutic work out ever. These days I opt for visiting National Trust or English Heritage properties where I walk around the estate. Being one with nature has always been very therapeutic for me and its something I enjoy especially in autumn.

Snuggles on the sofa

Over the last few years, I have changed up my living room sofa to something that I can snuggle up on. When the weather is cooler outside, I love nothing more than being snuggled up in my home enjoy some hot chocolate.

Chunky Knits

I am not the most fashionable person but chunky knits are perfect and essential items this time of year. Depending on the quality of the chunky knit no extra clothing is necessary for this weather. I have a couple that I bought years back that I often bring out around this time of year.

Pumpkin flavoured Everything

Though I don’t go overboard with pumpkin flavoured foods, there are everywhere during autumn. I always nip to Starbucks for something pumpkin inspired drink and cake.

The Autumnal colours

Am sure am not the only one who loves the autumnal colours and can’t get enough of them. Often I take a walk in the woods and just place with the leaves and admire the colours.

Halloween

I am not all for Halloween as it definitely spooks me out but I definitely love the treats. It has definitely become such a popular celebration over the pond and celebrated.

Thanksgiving

Though not widely celebrated in the UK, we do celebrate it in my home with family and friends. Mostly it’s at the beginning of October and we take fruits and vegetables to Church and gather with friends. It is always fun to sit together and enjoy Thanksgiving.

Even though the weather outside is frightful, it is still Autumn and there is much to be celebrated.

With Autumn coming to an end, I thought I share 9 things to love about autumn. November is the last month of autumn and there is so much I wanted to do that I didn't.

We love these things too. Especially the hot chocolate and snuggly knits. Cozy nights in are the best and really lend themselves to playing fun games as a family 😊
