Springtime is one of my favourite seasons, being a summer baby, I prefer warmer weather and wearing light clothes. Over the last few weeks, the weather has been anything but Spring-like, causing havoc on my wardrobe. I am unsure whether to update my wardrobe back to winter or continue with the Spring Capsule?

Having recently moved house, I have had to pack most of my clothes in boxes and had been worried about the odour. At the beginning of every season, I make a point of looking through my closet and removing any clothes that I can not wear in the new season. This season was, no different, unfortunately, I was also in the middle of a move, therefore, most of my clothes were put in storage.

Anyone who’s ever put clothes in storage knows the odour that comes with it. Over the last few years, I have been using these tips to keep my closet smelling fresh and odour free. Recently, I added Day 2 Dry wash spray to the mix and I am loving the results I have seen.

For those looking for simple, cheap and effective ways to keep your wardrobe smelling fresh, then look no further.

• Coffee grounds – they are great at keeping odours at bay so I have a small pot in storage. Coffee grounds are great at absorbing odour ensuring your clothes remain odour free.
• Scented paper – you can buy scented paper and keep with the clothes in storage or spray some perfume onto a tissue paper and store with the clothes.
• Potpourri – provides a natural gentle scent and keeps the odour at bay, I often keep a small satchel in the closet.
• Dry your washing outside – the UK weather leaves nothing to be desired, it’s better to give the laundry a breath of fresh air by driving it outside.
• Great ventilation – I always ensure the wardrobe is well ventilated, this allows the clothes to breathe and stay fresh.
• Essential oils – though I rarely use them in my home, a few drops in the wash carries the scent through keeping it fresh during storage.
• Remove clothes from the washing machine as soon as the circle ends, this stops the clothes from being covered with the damp smell.
• Unstoppables {Lenor} – this is one trick I have been using for a few years now and absolutely love it. A few shakes into the wash and clothes smelling fresh for many weeks on end.
• Day 2 dry wash spray – the best invention after bread and butter, I absolutely love this product. Not only is there a spray for denim but its easy to use, a few sprays, hang for 10-15 minutes and its ready. I am loving it even more because as a frequent traveller, I don’t often have time to do laundry on the go.
