Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨

{Fashion Monday} Spring 2018 Fashion Capsule {+ Preparation for Spring}

The weather has finally started to change and I thought I share my Spring 2018 Fashion Capsule. Spring is due to start in the next few weeks and these items are what has caught my attention. I am yet to do my wardrobe decluttering but I am sure once done, I will have enough space. For me I always feel it’s better to clear and sort out my closet before I purchase new items. I am definitely excited about Spring, the weather of late has been crazy hence the Spring 2018 Fashion Capsule. These items I am definitely loving and can not wait to add to my Spring Wardrobe.

Spring Fashion Capsule

Spring 2018 Fashion Capsule

Whenever I put Spring Fashion Capsules together, there are certain items that are always present. And those items are ‘Skinny Jeans‘, after all a Fashion Capsule is a collection of essential items. For me skinny jeans are an essential item in my closet and are part of all my Fashion Capsules. Just check out my Winter Capsule and Summer Capsule to appreciate that skinny jeans are my thing.

Because of how cold it has been, I have been forced to wear loads of jumpers to stay warm indoors. This is why I am loving the pastel jumpers I am seeing in shop windows. Though I have a variety of jumpers, none are pastel colours and that’s what I am loving currently.

I have found myself loving skirts as well, particularly coloured and patterned skirts. The skirts currently occupying my wardrobe are all plain and simple that’s how I like them. But lately I wanted skirts with detail and definition which I think these fit the bill.

Another item I thought would complete my Spring 2018 Fashion Capsule is the batwing shirt. For me batwing clothing is a must have as it hides loads, not only the arm wings but tummy area. Those of us who love to eat too much and have extra padding in the mid section, I love batwing.

How to Prepare yourself for Spring

Within a few weeks Spring will officially be here, how are your preparing for the change in weather. Those of us in the UK we are used to our ‘British weather’ so more option than not nothing much changes. You will find that we always walking around with our brollies {umbrellas} and sunglasses. We always have an outer coat stashed somewhere is if it not on our person. Here is how I am preparing myself for Spring

  • Decluttering my home
  • Spring cleaning
  • Spend more time outdoors
  • Eat with the season
  • Buy some flowers

Spring is considered a rebirth, therefore it’s important to let go the past and move forward. For me it’s about starting afresh, from a cleaned wardrobe to enjoying outdoor activities. This is one Spring season I am definitely looking forward to, with so many planned tried coming up.

What are you most looking forward to this Spring? Have you started preparing your Spring Wardrobe yet? What items are you loving in my Spring 2018 Fashion Capsule?

I love some of the items you’ve chosen. I’ve seen quite alot of pastel even here in Portugal and only yesterday bought a light jumper and long top, both in pastel shades of pink to team with skinny jeans.

Pastels seems perfect for spring. It’s light on the eyes and the sweater is cool to wear, which is light and can still keep you arm.
