The Ultimate Packing Guide for Thailand

Travelling to Thailand had always been on my bucketlist and recently, I embarked on our Thailand Adventures. It is so surreal to think I have been and returned from such an incredible trip. Thailand is such an exotic destination filled with gorgeous golden sandy beaches and breathtaking islands. It is our wish that one day we will be able to take my parents who are busy enjoying Life at 50.

Although Thailand’s climate various throughout the year, the best time to visit Thailand is November thru to February. For those travelling during the peak tourist season, we’ve compiled the Ultimate Packing Guide for Thailand. As a minimalist traveller, I did not take much but packed essentials for a 2-week trip across Thailand.

In this post, I hope to share the Ultimate Packing Guide for Thailand, tips on packing only essential items. Over the years as a solo traveller, I have learnt how to pack and travel light. Every item in my suitcase or backpack is always used on every trip, the Ultimate Packing Guide for Thailand aims to highlight what I packed.

The Ultimate Packing Guide for Thailand

In the last four years of being a solo traveller, I have learnt life is truly too short not to make or take opportunities in life. Over the last few years, we’ve lost so many family members, its made us want to prepare for the future even more. Thankfully, SunLife has useful information about what to do should the worst happen.

No one ever wants to take about dying but just like with anything in life, its essential to be prepared. Just like before my trip, I made sure I was prepared not only financially but things that I wanted to take with me. The Ultimate Packing Guide for Thailand highlights all the items I took because I prepared in advance of my trip.

• Water bottle – Thailand can get pretty hot even in February, we experienced high temperatures {37 degrees daily}. We were constantly thirsty but having a water bottle helped keep us hydrated.
• Microfibre towel – I never knew I needed one until I was on constantly needing a dry. I bought this towel on Amazon and its the best towel ever, highly recommend you buy something similar.
• 2 Dresses – maxi and off shoulder – I don’t often wear dresses but came in handy when going to the beach and entering temples.
• 4 camisole tops + t-shirts {mix match colours} – I don’t know about you but I live in camisoles and in crazy Thailand weather they are essential.
• 4 shorts – {denim, cotton, work out} – I am some who also lives in shorts, in hot weather they are absolutely essential.
• 7 pairs of underwear – when it comes to underwear you can pack as many as you need and I opted for 7 and wash them daily.
• 2 bikinis and 2 piece swimwear – depending on your preference I recommend no more than 4 swimwear items. I love one piece swimwear and packed 4 of those whilst some of my friends packed a mixture.
• 4 bras – 2 normal and 2 sports – for those that like to exercise when travelling, I recommend packing some sports bra otherwise 1 strapless and 3 normal is ideal.
• 1 pair of flipflops – even though it makes sense to buy them there, it’s cheaper to buy them from home.
• 2 pair of sunglasses – I say two only because we lost on pair whilst snookering. You can find cheap sunglasses that will do the job in Thailand.
• 1 pair of sandals – though most of the time will be spent in flipflops when travelling out and sound sandals are essential.
• 1 crossover bag and 1 backpack – backpacks are better and more efficient to carry items to the beach and island tours. crossover bags are most convenient everywhere else.
• 1 Fedora – hats are not only stylish but they keep you cool and protect you from the sun.
• Toiletries – I took all the essential beauty products including sun protection
• Travel pillow + Fleece – very essential for long flights, it can get cold up there.

These are the essential items that I packed in for the 2-week trip to Thailand and actually used throughout the trip. Other essential items to take on your trip to Thailand include;

• Imodium
• Travel Wallet
• Prescription medication (if any)
• Travel Documentation
• Powerbank
• Travel converter
