Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Fashion Monday} A Yellow {kind of} day

Yellow on a cloudy day

Earlier in the year I shared how to style a frill long sleeved shirt, yellow is a colour I don’t wear often enough. I thought it would be fun to show how I styled the frill long sleeved shirt. Though it is a rarity for me to be in the photos I thought it would nice way to end July. Turning 30 has somehow made me just a little bit more braver than usual. It could be the age or it could be I have always been this way and just didn’t have the courage.

A Yellow {Kind of Day}

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure to tour Shakespeare’s Globe thanks to 365 Tickets who hooked us up. I took my sister as my plus one and she encouraged me to take some pictures for a Fashion post. Normally I prefer to share outfit ideas from my mood board but this time I wanted to feature. Whilst some outfits don’t always translate from mood board to real life, I do like this outfit.

As mentioned yellow is not my usual colour but there is always a first time for everything. Though this is not my first time rocking yellow outfits I Think this is the first I am sharing on the blog. I definitely include yellow in my mood boards but rarely wear it in real life because it’s such a bright colour. Most of us don’t do bright colours that well or don’t know how to style them so often we hide from them.

Outfit details: Ripped jeans (New Look), Frill long sleeved top (New Look), glasses (Primark) and flats (not pictured – New Look).

I have mentioned many times on the blog about adding colour to my wardrobe and braving it. It’s been liberating wearing bright colours, especially on dreary days when all we want is some sunshine. Bright colours always brighten up my days so I ensure to wear them as often as I can. Yellow is the new staple colour in my closet this summer and I am loving it big time.

What’s been your favourite colour this season? How do you like yellow?

    Loving the bright colours, definitely getting the summer vibe right here. The yellow shirt is different than I have seen before, but definitely a nice piece.

    I have been wearing more pink this season than I ever have. There is something bright and cheery about it, but this yellow is great. I love that shirt.

    I like how you frilled a long sleeved top. I agree that yellow is a nice color, however, I don’t wear yellow because it does not look good on me. You rocked your outfit though. That purse is really cute too.
