Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

On our recent visit to the theme park, it was courtesy of peperami who sent us some tickets to #TerrifyAFriend. I consider myself to be a novice thrill seeker but roller coasters are on another level. In this article, we aim to share some unsurprising things about Alton Towers.

Things-to-do @ Alton Towers

The first time I ever visited Alton Towers was over 10 years ago, I remember it like it was yesterday. I went with my now ex and he is a thrill seeker so it means riding the scariest roller coasters. All I remember from that visit is screaming my lungs out and winning a Spiderman doll.

Fast forward to a few weeks ago when I went with my sister to the theme park. We both decided riding roller coasters weren’t something we were too keen on. But to our surprise, we found other things that kept us entertained for hours. Here are some of the things you can do at Alton Towers

  • Alton Towers Spa – now this is something I could definitely get used to. I never knew that there was a spa at the theme park, all I could recall was screaming. Thankfully if you’re not into roller coasters, this is something that you can definitely tuck in.
  • The Gardens – now this was an incredible surprise. The weather was absolutely gorgeous and after enjoying a picnic, we went for a walk. It was then that we stumbled upon the most gorgeous gardens ever and couldn’t stop admiring.
  • Roller coaster restaurant – unfortunately during our visit it was packed. We decided to skip it for our next visit to the theme park but if you’ve ever been you know its gorgeous. It is definitely a unique dining experience set on a roller coaster track.
  • Extraordinary Golf – what’s lovely about it is that all ages are welcome to play. We are such bad golf players but that doesn’t mean we couldn’t give it a try. It is definitely worth the money, it is so much fun to play with friends and family.

There are many other things to do at the theme park like ride roller coasts, visit CBeebies for kids, a waterpark and more. If you want to do it all, its best to book a stay at the resort’s lodging.

We had such a lovely time at Alton Towers, if you’re not into rides, you can picnic. We spent some time in the cable car which had an aerial view of the theme park. There is so much fun to be hard, it is not just for kids, adults can have fun too.

More about Peperami

We were sent these with the tickets to snack on whilst enjoying the view

As mentioned, we were sent tickets to visit Alton Towers via a PR contact. With the tickets came the peperami sausage made by a German company. As part of their terrifying 2 for 1 campaign, you can bag yourself tickets to visit Alton Towers or Thorpe Park.

I’ve never been to Alton Towers (I feel like I may be the only person in the world who hasn’t!), but I REALLY like that Alton Towers has a SPA ! That’s incredible and definitely caters for those who do not want to ride on the same roller coaster 4 times in a row (my friend is that type of person)!
