Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Beach Bridal Dresses | Weddings in Summer

Sponsored

As a summer baby, I am partial to summer weddings than any other time of the year though weddings in autumn are not a bad idea either. I love everything about weddings, from planning the entire affair through to buying the dress. When I think about weddings in summer, I envision holding the wedding near the beach at the height of summer.

Weddings have an amazing power of bringing families together to celebrate two families coming together. When I recently attended my friend’s wedding, I loved what she wore, her open back dress was similar to the Pronovias wedding dresses I have seen. In this post, I will share a few ideas of beach bridal dresses That I love and would opt to wear.

Beach Bridal Dresses – Summer Weddings

As the weather has started to warm up and many wedding invites are coming through the mail, I wanted to share some of the beach bridal dresses I am loving. For those looking to buy a beach bridal dress, I hope this post will be a nice starting point.

Like most brides, there is nothing more important than buying the right dress. A bridal dress can make or break a ceremony, it is not about how much it costs but rather how the bride likes it. I know for myself, I would want a dress that matches my character and vibe.

When it comes to choosing a summer wedding dress, I would want something simple and airier. There is nothing than wearing your best dress and sweating like a pig. Most of us girls love lace so personally, I would want a dress with some lace detail somewhere.

Most brides know in advance what kind of dresses they want to wear and I know what kind of beach bridal dress I would like. The design must be simple but elegant and have some detail on the top that shows off my cleavage.

Tips To Remember When Buying A Bridal Dress

Like most new brides we often only think about getting to the shops and buying that dress. I know most of us would want to try it on before we made our final decision, which is something important. Below, I have compiled a few tips to be mindful of before you buy a bridal dress.

  • Start shopping early – if you schedule your wedding a year in the future, start shopping then.
  • Know your price – its important to have a price in mind to avoid disappointment.
  • Figure out what you like and the dress code – be conscience especially for those holding weddings in a place of worship.
  • Book in advance and allow the wedding shop to share their recommendations for your budget.
  • Buy a dress that fits you now – nothing worse than buying a small dress for your future size and not fit into the dress.
  • Have fun – it can be a stressful time trying to budget for a wedding, remember it is your wedding.

Weddings can be one of the most important events in one’s life, for a woman the dress can be an important part of that too. I don’t know about you but I hope when I do get married, it might be during the summer and I want to wear a beach bridal dress.

Beach weddings are fairly popular here where I live, being a shore community. It’s always interesting to see the different styles.
