Personal hygiene is somewhat of a hash hash subject for most people but personally an opportunity to teach or learn about them in any shape or form fascinates me. I remember back when I was in school in Zed we used to have classes dedicated to personal hygiene, the girls would be taught by a female teacher and boys by male teachers respectively. I at one point lucked out and found my class had shortage of female teachers for the male tutor covered both in my class. I can assure you there was laughter, shyness and everything you can think of and I think if we were of a lighter skin you would have seen how we all blushed. I remember this male tutor saying to the class: “I don’t ever want see Bob Marley on any of you, all I want to see is captain Jean-Luc Picard” for those who don’t get it he was saving we had to save our privates and armpits instead of keeping hair, unto now I still laugh so hard about it and this was 15 years ago {insert sigh} how I miss high school.
A few days ago in stopped by Superdrug to stock up on my personal essentials and I grabbed the following items.
Always night pads – For me I have long suffered from heavy flow and it’s something that has troubled me for the longest time. Back in the day the only pads I could use were the maternity ones since they helped me the manage the flow. Over the last ten years have been using Always products and I can not praise them enough. I used to be so scared using light pads but with Always they are thin but offers 100% protection and best part they offer odour neutralisation. I picked up a mega pack of 20 night pads with wings.
Carefree plus panty liners – for the longest time I had had somewhat of an issue with the panty liners on the market until I tried out the carefree range. What used to annoying so much was that some of them wouldn’t stick to your knickers if the material wasn’t cotton and would them roll off so now I use the long carefree panty liners which offer great protections for up to 12 hours.
Feminine wash – it is very important to ensure the products you’re using for the delicate area are pH balanced as it’s very sensitive area. I got a high street brand product which I trust and this wash contains extracts of chamomile and aloe Vera. Make sure the wash is hypoallergic, soap free and pH balanced
Vagisil – A few years back my doctor prescribed cansteen for the itching and it worked like a charm until it stopped. I have not needed it for a few years now but my heavy flow has been causing itching so I decided to purchase the vagisil over the counter, I am yet to use it but it’s claimed to quickly cool, soothe and relieve intimate itching, burning and irritation. I recommend checking with your nurse or pharmacist before trying out intimate products for any reason.
Cotton wool doubled faced pads – I have been buying Superdrug cool face pads for years now and I absolutely love them. I mostly use them for applying my face serum or removing my nail polish with varnish remover. They are soft and very absorbent and can definitely be used by the whole family.
These are some of the products I like to use for my personal hygiene. This is not to say it’s an exhaustive list there many others that I use but wanted to share the few that I purchased a couple days ago.

A personal hygiene class? That sounds weird to me, but I like always products. I’ve used all of these, they are things you don’t really thing about until, you need them.

I use a lot of these products myself. I think personal hygiene is very important. So many people do consider it a taboo subject, but it is, in fact, a very important one that should not be avoided.

Ah, high school! Ours was health class. I remember when we watched the childbirth video and literally two guys passed out. I hope for their wives sake they got over it by the time they needed to!
