Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

GlossyBox | 50 years | May Box

imageimage

Hi there, welcome to another beauty box subscription it’s a bit late but better late than never! this time it’s Glossybox. My feelings on this box have always been borderline 50-50, I decided to try them again because they seemed to have improved since my last box (Nov 13) but I am not sure if I want to get another box or not because well there isn’t much different about this box compared to love me beauty box or even latest in beauty boxes.

The subscription deal is the same as others, you can choose frequency of payments and sometimes boxes too but not always (on box choice). This sub box goes for £10 a month plus £3.25 delivery charge and usually get it during the middle of the month. So onto what I have in my box also congratulations to Superdrug who celebrated 50 years and worked with Glossy box to give these items.

{1} 3D Candy Nail Art (RRP £3) – y’all know my level of skills when it comes to nail art so let’s just assume this will not be used but will be included into my blogaversary hamper I am gathering up. I am not sure about the price seems too expensive for tiny beads but then again I am frugal. I may have mentioned in my YT video for this box that I will use it but in hindsight I realised I won’t because well I will just make a mess.

{2} Bronze Glow Mosaic (RRP £2.99) – funny this happened with this I used my powder puff and applied this all over my face I don’t know what I was thinking (blond moment) but I was super glowing and shiny all day and not in a good way (was not too bad though). I must say I love this product so much, 1 it’s cheaper than the nail art above, 2 it gives you that sun kissed shimmer of colour and can be used to contour the cheeks and collar bone and 3 gives a natural-looking tan (not that I need it lol). I highly recommend this product to anyone looking for an all-year round natural looking tan.

{3} Sheer Conditioning Lipstick (RRP £6.99) love the product as it gives you a soft shine on the lips, contains vitamin E Shea butter and aloe Vera enriched with lipstick. What I don’t like is the price of it but I would comprise am sure.

{4} Volume 107 Lashes (RRP £5.35) – I am scared stiff to try putting lashes on my own but fear will not stop me trying these, I love the look and feel of them. Watch out for my Instagram pics of me wearing these Eylure lashes which are angled and I am told that’s even better quality to have as they are apparently easy to apply.

{5} Simple’s kind to skin + illuminating radiance cream (RRP £8.99) – if you have seen my face routine video or post you will know I love simple and I hardly even move away from simple because it’s just the best out their for my sensitive skin and it does exactly what it says on the tin. This box came before I went to Munich and it’s less than 100ml so was perfect for my trip and carrying in hand laggage. This product is infused with multi vitamins and skin loving ingredients that aid protection against UVA & UVB rays (came in really handy during trip to Munich), this cream illuminates and protects your skin to look naturally radiant.

Unlike most sub boxes, glossy includes some bonus products and this month it’s:
{1} Garnier oil beauty lotion (for 250ml £4.99) this is not a product for me unless I put baby oil in because since it’s non-greesey my skin will be ashy and not pretty at all hence my not liking this product. Saying that it says “infused with argan, macademia, almond and rose oil the oil beauty lotion helps replenish the skin with moisture and reinforce it’s barrier function to prevent it from feeling dry, leaving your skin feeling softer and silky-smooth” so maybe I should try it when I am not going anywhere and monitor it during the day.

{2} Ghost Fragrances Eclipse (RRP £33 for 50ml) I love all ghost perfumes I can’t get enough. A friend of mine at uni he introduced me to it by buying it for me for my first Christmas at uni since then I always have some stashed somewhere. This product I will definitely recommend as it’s a must have fragrance this month.

i’ve been looking at some of these box subscriptions, but i feel torn. i know it’s a good deal, but i don’t know if i would love everything. i guess putting it in a giveaway is a good use of the stuff you wouldn’t use. 🙂

I used to subscribe to all of these, but I quickly found out how (like you) only liked half of the product & wish I would have invested that 10-20$ at a department store getting product that I LOVED. My favorite was Ipsy – but now I just complete all the tasks for Influenster & get those boxes all the time! Can’t beat free!
