Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Craving something lemony? Here are my top picks from Springvale Foods.

Are you a lover of all things lemon or are you just craving something lemony? Whichever bucket you fall under, we have put together our top picks of lemony foods from Springvale Foods and are excited to share them with you. I am someone with a huge sweet tooth (my dentist can attest to this) but I also love lemon flavoured foods so I was more than happy to share this post especially to those craving something lemony or fancy getting some ideas of things they can grab from Springvale Foods that are all lemon inspired.

If I was to choose just one thing that is lemon flavoured that I often crave more than anything else then it would be lemon meringue. I don’t know what it is about lemon meringues that made me want to stuff them in my mouth so quick but alas I do. So if you are craving something lemony this fine day then check out this post on some of our top picks from Spring vale Foods that we absolutely recommend as we would purchase them ourselves. Next to velvet chocolate cupcakes, lemon curd cupcakes are my top favourite and often purchase them when I have a busy schedule.

When life gives you lemons, it’s time to start cooking. I personally love lemons and all things lemony. I’m already salivating thinking about anything lemony and I haven’t even started talking about my favourite lemon-flavoured goodies yet. I think that lemon is often overlooked and underestimated – a small drop of lemon juice or lemon zest can easily enhance any food or drink.

Craving something lemony?

When life gives you lemons, it’s time to start cooking. I personally love lemons and all things lemony. I’m already salivating thinking about anything lemony and I haven’t even started talking about my favourite lemon-flavoured goodies yet. I think that lemon is often overlooked and underestimated – a small drop of lemon juice or lemon zest can easily enhance any food or drink.

So, you can imagine how happy I am today partnering up with Springvale Foods to talk about their lemony foods and drinks. Springvale Foods, wholesale fine foods, are a family-run business that specialises in sourcing and offering unique and exclusive food brands. Whether you have a small independent shop or like to stock up on your favourite goodies, I’d highly recommend shopping at Springvale Foods.

I like to start my days with lemon water and not only for its flavour. According to this article on The  Healthy, lemon water has a variety of benefits, from helping weight loss and to digest food as well as increasing potassium levels and helping liver function. So, cut up a lemon and enjoy your lemon water while I jump into my favourite lemony goodies from Springvale Foods.

Border Biscuits Lemon Drizzle Melts

The lemon drizzle melts are my Achilles’ heel. So, much so that I tend to hide them so nobody else steals my biscuits. You might think that I’m being overly dramatic, but when you try these, you will understand. These biscuits have a super zest lemon taste and will melt in your mouth! Dear Bear and the Beany recommend having these biscuits during your tea break – you can dunk them, dip them or eat them straight out of the packet.

Fentimans Victorian Lemonade

Refreshing, light and delicious is how I’d describe this lemonade. Getting lemonade right is difficult sometimes, it’s either too sweet or too sour but this is one is just right, perfect for a sunny Summer day. Each bottle has the juice of one and a half lemons!

Mrs Darlington’s Lemon Curd

Time with Thea shares my passion for lemony things. In a recent blog post, she mentioned how “Mrs Darlington’s Lemon Curd is always delicious, never fails to satisfy my lemon cravings and I may or may not keep a spare jar or two in my cupboard at all times.” I’m right there with her on that statement. If you haven’t tried Mrs Darlington’s Lemon Curd – please do yourself a favour and go get a jar (thank me later!).

Patteson’s Original Gluten Free Lemon Cake

This lemon cake is delicious and suitable for those with a gluten allergy. Whether you are looking for a quick dessert, don’t want to show up empty handed to a friend’s gathering or are simply searching for something new to add to your afternoon tea – this lemon cake is the perfect choice.

Single Variety Co. Lemon Drop Chilli Jam

Spice up any meals with this lemon drop chilli jam. If you like it spicy, you’ll love this jam! Add this to your chicken dishes or in a cheese toastie for extra flavour. Can also be added in a margarita for that perfect kick of flavour!

I’m not the only one who believes that lemon is fabulous for everything. This article on Seattle Times mentions how lemons are the secret ingredient that makes everything taste better. “Adding lemon juice or zest to a dish, sweet or savory, changes its whole flavor profile. Suddenly, a pretty good tomato sauce is brimming with complexity, a blackberry pie tastes like it’s packed with a thousand perfect berries and all of summer, and braised broccolini isn’t just a convenient side dish — it’s the best part of the meal.”
