I was excited to receive the invite to have lunch at Mango Tree Harrods in London last week. Over the weekend we went to sample the menu and came back with full bellies of Dim Sum. It was an experience that I shared with my sister and you can read her Mango Tree Experience. We decided that we wouldn’t waste our visit to London and made it a sister’s lunch date before chilling in Hyde Park. The day hadn’t started off all sunny in Oxford but in London it was all Sunshine Food and Fun.
The recap on our lunch at Mango Tree Harrods comes up because I overloaded you with information yesterday. I had so much fun recounting what we sampled on the menu and the experience. This recap is aimed at giving you another {simplified} dose of our experience at Mango Tree Restaurant Harrods.
Recap on Lunch at Mango Tree {Harrods}
We had arrived just in time for our lunch which we reserved for 13.00 and were shown to our seat. The style of the restaurant reminded me of the sushi belt restaurants except there was no conveyor. The seating was low enough and underneath there was a hook for attaching your bags and shopping. Upon being seated we were offered water whilst we looked over the menu.
The Menu
The menu was simple but packed enough options to meet every demand for your favourite Thai food. You have an option of several types of Dim Sum, then fried spring rolls and salads. There is an option for a Dim Sum platter or Fried Platter, we tried both platters instead of single types. Whilst £39.80 might seem expensive to some I think it’s a reasonable price since it comes with winton soup.
The platters are quite filling plus the soup has more Dim Sum in it. The menu also offered other full dishes which were either accompanied with rice or salad or some with soup. There is a great drinks selection from your alcoholic drinks to soft drinks. Overall I think the menu is adequate and serves the purpose of those who wish to grab a quick-lunch. A lunch that is filling to give you back you energy for more walking whilst you shop.
The Atmosphere
I liked the ambiance of the place, the colour skim is more dimly lit making it romantic. The atmosphere is enchanting, order your food, enjoy your food and be carried to another continent as you enjoy the flavours. Harrods is not exactly a quite shopping place but somehow lunch at Mango Tree is relaxed and enjoyable. The enjoy place was buzzing and constantly full but the waiting time wasn’t too long. Longest we saw someone wait was 15 minutes and they were happy enough to wait. It shows just how much this restaurant is loved and the quality of food that people enjoy.
Final Thoughts
We ended the lunch with a nice pot of Jasmine tea which blew me away. When it’s brought over the Jasmine flower takes a minute to open up and when it does it’s ready to be drunk. The infusion wasn’t too strong and we didn’t even need sugar to improve the taste it was perfect. It you’re ever in Harrods make sure to head to the food court and experience Mango Tree for yourself.

I have no idea there was a Restaurant in Harrods. When I visited the store, during Christmas time, I never saw a restaurant. However it sounds like you had a great time, and that tea at the end of your meal sounds fabulous.
