Strawberry Tours are a UK touring company offering free walking tours in and around London. If you’re in London for a few hours or have a tight budget, consider Strawberry Tours. They offer a variety of free walking tours of London and it’s a great use of your time. Of the many tours offered by the company, we opted for the Harry Potter tour which runs 11 am and 15.30. The tour takes up to 2 hours but doesn’t feel like it, its very interactive and definitely a must do.
We recently has an opportunity to pop into London and be part of the free Harry Potter tour. Many of us have at one point heard of or even seen a Harry Potter movie. It’s one of the most well known fantasy series in the world, to date has made billions. Yet there a few people like my sister who have yet to jump into the bandwagon of Harry, Hermione and Ron.

The meeting point for the tour is between the M&M’s World and Lego Store in Leicester Square, London. There are two tours per day, 11 am for the early birds and 15.30 for the late comers. It is advised to arrive at least 10 minutes in advance for safety briefing. The tour guides are very knowledgeable, making the tour fun and very interactive.
I had not watched the movie in years and never read the books so I found the trivial questions quite hard. But all the HP fans where in gear and answered every single question but I still found it fun. The tour guides like to put people into different houses as per HP etiquette and it was fun.
Points of interest on the Harry Point tour
As I said, I have not read the books but I have seen the movie when they first came out. It’s been years now but here are some points of interest we ventured on during the tour.
- Ministry of Magic
- Diagon Alley
- Knockturn Alley
- Millenium Building
- Leaky Cauldron
- Hardys sweet shop
The weather in London is unpredictable so I would encourage warm clothing and umbrellas. It started to rain half way through our tour but we continued in, it was that much fun. At the end of the tour, you give to the tour guide an amount you think the tour was worth. This is not mandatory, it is just nice thing to do, 10% of tips are donated to charity.
What is mandatory is making a reservation for the tours, they have become quite popular. The 11 am tour is run in English only and the 15.30 is in both English and Spanish.
