Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨

Father’s Day Celebrations – 2018 Gift Ideas

Father’s Day is a special day dedicated to all those incredible dads doing there very best. Like Mother’s Day it is a day dedicated to showing extra love to the dads in our lives. Father’s Day celebrations started back in the Middle Ages mostly celebrated by Catholic families during the month of March. In the twentieth century it was adopted by countries like the USA who in turn changed the date. The new current Father’s Day celebrations falls on the third Sunday in June.

Father's Day celebrations

Knowing we have only 4 weeks left before Father’s Day 2018, I thought I share some gift ideas. Whilst Father’s Day celebrations are not all about gifts, it is still nice to gift our loved ones. Here some of the items I am moving and am sure my father would love them too.

Father’s Day Celebrations – 2018 Gift Ideas

Looking back to all the Father’s Day gift ideas we’ve shared on the blog, couple things are always on the list. Perfume or a men’s watch seems to be a frequent features on the gift guides which should comes no surprise to anyone. The father’s in my life do love their perfumes and watches and who can blame them. Here some items I think would be perfect for the upcoming Father’s Day celebrations.

Men’s Travel Kit – since I have been treating my parents to trips abroad, it has became apparent that he needs a travel kit. Packing items that he can use whilst traveling seems to allude daddy dearest so this would be awesome.

Continuing on with travel needs I thought a nice hanging wall calendar from *showcase creative would be good. I thought it would be cool for him to have a visual countdown to the next adventure time abroad. Whilst a phone can be just as good, there is something more satisfying about physical items

Car Washing kit – daddy dearest is a neat freak and he lives things clean a certain way. This also extends to the family car which he takes great pride in ensuring its visually appealing. A nice car washing tool kit would be the bees knees to father dearest and our family car.

when it comes to clothing, father dearest is hard to shop for but also easy at the same time. Easy in that he often wants the same things; more socks and more T-shirts. Hard because he needs other items but its hard to convince him he needs them unless mum does it.

And there you have it, items that I think most father’s would love to receive for the upcoming Father’s Day celebrations.

Would you believe I’ve never bought a Father’s Day gift? I never had a father growing up, and my husband isn’t that fussed with things. Maybe this year I’ll treat him as a surprise.

Those are some great ideas. My husband got a grill for Father’s day that is so portable we can easily take it camping. Yes had the money and we bought each other early Mother’s and Father’s day gifts back in like April. He got a grill and I got a paddle board.

I always struggle with ideas of things to by for my Dad – I did buy him a signed book but then he was quite poorly so I gave it to him early – so now I need to think of something new.
