Our recent group travel to Bremen was epic and memorable, not only because Bremen is a charming city but because of the company we kept. Having visited the city of Bremen before, I was more than happy to play tour guide though not as good as BTZ. I was happy to return to the city that is small but has a big heart and a charming nature and share with my friends what it has to offer.
Travelling whether with a group or solo is always an adventure and at any time if open to it, you can learn something new. When BTZ organised a tour guide for myself, I did not know how much I had absorbed that our group trip to Bremen had a lovely itinerary. Last month travelling in a large group, I learnt a lot most specifically I enjoy solo travel but the smaller group travel made me realise I love travel companions.

A Guide To Group Travel To Bremen
When I first visited Bremen, it was autumn but I still enjoyed a few days of sunshine which made my visit absolutely worth it. The second time around its summer but German weather is a little like British weather where it can rain for no reason in the middle of summer. Thankfully for us, it rained after we had done the exploring around the city and had sat down for a cuppa.
Our day trip started from London Stansted were we got the 7.50am flight to Bremen which landed at 10.10am. Upon arriving and quickly going through security, we took tram #6 in the direction of

Around the Marketplace (Markplatz)
The Marketplace is the must visit and important area not only for the tourists but the city itself. The Roland statue together with the town hall (Rathaus) are UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE sites since 2004 and symbolizes freedom and market rights. Underneath the town hall is a restaurant Ratskeller which sells the best wine in the city and some of the best local delicacies.
In the markplatz, you will also find the Bremen musicians on the west side of the town hall, St. Petri Dom on the east side is also worth the visit. You can climb the cathedral for a small fee but entering the church itself it’s free but donations are welcome. Across the markplatz runs the oldest street in the city, its called Langenstrass
Bottcherstrasse
If you’re looking for the best coffee in Bremen, then I recommend you head to Bottcherstrasse, an area of pure culture. It this area you will find museums and the best coffee shops, Ludwig Roselius, the inventor of decaffeinated coffee resided here once. BTZ once mentioned that Bottcherstrasse is the best place in the city where you can get bonbons and they were right. Check out Bremer Bonbon Manufaktur who make the best candies and you can watch the work through a window.

Schnoor
Our walk from Bottcherstrasse to Schnoor was simple and quick, BTZ has an offer in Bottcherstrasse and they offer the best way to reach Schnoor. With simple and clear directions we reached the beautiful area of Schnoor in no time. We had also decided that in Schnoor is
The first time I visited the Schnoor area I was utterly amazed at the small houses nicely lined up like a string. It is the oldest area in Bremen that was used by fishermen and boatmen, today it’s a popular tourist destination. There are many tiny cute shops and cafes with some lovely souvenirs, you can stroll in this the area freely.

From Schnoor, we made our way back to the markplatz to revisit in the tourist attractions. The sun was shining, children were playing and the music was being played by street musicians. Our group trip to Bremen felt more relaxed even though we managed to visit so many places.
We then decided to visit the schusselkorb and AM Wall (aka windmill area and restaurant), an area of pure tranquillity and the oldest fish restaurant. It’s a 5-10 minute walk from markplatz to the windmill in the direction of Hauptbahnhof.
Often when I go I day trips even within the UK, I feel rushed to do everything but this wasn’t the case with our group travel to Bremen. We had as of laughter, tried many things, toured many places and played in the bubbles. If you’re ever on the fence about travelling to Bremen then I hope this post will be insightful and make you want to visit this small German city.

Germany is one of the countries our family wants to visit. I think having a tour guide can be helpful and educational. We had a couple of guided tours in Paris a few months ago, and my family and I got so much out of the experience!
