Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. How to update your bedroom with Photowall

Photowall is a brand I recently worked with and I am sharing tips on how you can update your bedroom with Photowall’s prints, wallpaper and posters. Ever since I bought my own place, I have been obsessed is styling it in a way that is reflective of my style and this is why when Photowall asked to collaborate, I jumped at the opportunity. Photowall is a Swedish wall-art company that is passionate about creating inspiring living spaces with personality. I can tell you that my bedroom has never looked better and the wallpaper I picked from this brand is better than any we’ve used before in the past.

It is often said that your home is your castle and it pays to keep your castle in a condition that you would be proud of. For me personally I have been updating my castle slowly but surely and now that I had added a feature wall to my bedroom, I think it is almost complete. If you need tips on how to update your bedroom with photowall or maybe with simple affordable items then read on as I am sharing tips that I implement and absolutely recommend. When it comes to updating your bedroom, you want to ensure your room is a place of peace and zen, after all you will be spending a lot of time there.

HOW TO UPDATE YOUR BEDROOM WITH PHOTOWALL

Disclosure – I was gifted the wallpaper in exchange for a review on this blog.

How to update your bedroom with Photowall

When it comes to updating your home, you want to choose pieces that you can use year round or can be easily switched for another. I love decorating and those who’ve visited my home always find I have moved things around but its still the same pieces I just re-organised them. When it came to choosing what I wanted to update my bedroom wall with, I knew that I wanted a timeless piece that have personality and I think my photowall wallpaper is exactly that and more. I chose a tropical wallpaper that matched the theme of my bedroom and since I have plain white walls, this was a perfect addition to add character and personality to my boudoir.

Updating your bedroom doesn’t have to cost much and here is how to update your bedroom with Photowall without trying.

  • Add a feature wall – a feature wall is always a good idea regardless of whether you have a small room or a large room. It becomes the focal point of your room and whenever someone visits that’s the first thing they notice.
  • Reduce the side table clutter – I mentioned in a recent post about what I actually keep on my side table, like most people I prefer for it to be clutter free especially in the position that my bed is in means I don’t obstruct my feature wall too much.
  • Add Canvas Print – if feature wall is too much for your bedroom then maybe a canvas print of your choosing could be the ticket.
  • Add flowers – I have indoor plants all over my home and have two in my bedroom plus recently added a fake plant as a decorative piece and it works. You can either choose real plants or fake plants depending on the look you are after.

There are many ways you can spruce up your home and you can update your bedroom is photowall by choosing the many prints, posters, canvas and wallpaper they have to offer. Having bought a canvas print before from Photowall I knew that I would be happy to collaborate with them as their items are of great quality and the ordering process is very simple. For the feature wall in my bedroom, I measure 340cm by 250cm and they made sure to make it a little longer in case I fudged my numbers a little but it was perfect and now I am planning to make use of the extra bits of the wallpaper.

Mini Review on PhotoWall

Having bought from them before and loving the product this collaboration was a no brainer. I found the ordering process pretty easy, plus choosing the wallpaper was made very easy as well. I choose the part of the tropical painting that I wanted to be part of my wallpaper and it can as I had indicated which is great. Photowall offers standard and premium wallpaper, I went for the premium and it’s of great quality and strong. I loved that we could watch the video on their website on best tips when installing a wallpaper which we followed to the letter.

I forgot to add wallpaper paste so ended up buying my own and it worked perfectly, the wallpaper came with instructions on what equipment we would need and how to install the wallpaper. This was my first time installing a wallpaper and initially I wanted a professional to do it but glad we did it ourselves, it took 5 hours but it was worth it in the end. I have low curved ceilings on one side of my home so that was tricky putting a wallpaper but we managed and now my bedroom looks better than ever.

When it came to ordering the wallpaper, I had a plethora of options to choose from, I choose the size (inches or CM), added to the basket, after my order I got three e-mails. One to confirm the order, two to confirm shipment and three to confirm expected date of delivery. I received my order within 3-5 days of placing the order and it came in a small storage and durable box. I am truly impressed by the quality of the wallpaper and how quickly it got to me after ordering.

When it arrived, it was in a small box and it had been rolled up into one long sheet with 8 demarcations to the size that I had requested plus a little extra. We were able to cut the wallpaper easily, instructions were easy to follow and we were able to put the wallpaper up in a matter of hours (we are amateur). We definitely got a good workout from it but loved the process and now I can not wait to wallpaper my office.

For all A July Dreamer readers, you get a discount for ordering your own wallpaper, print or canvas of your choosing just use ajulydreamer25 at checkout. This code will give you a 25% discount on any product on Photowall’s website and you can use it for two (2) months from today.
