Lifestyle: Curtains Curtains Curtains

When thinking about decorating your home, many of us seem to focus on accessorizing the space we have with furnishings and art pieces that we forget curtains are just as essential. I was honoured to be selected by curtains curtains curtains to collaborate with them and share some of the services they offer, in particular the made to measure service.

I have never personally ordered made to measure curtains before. In all the houses I have lived in outside the family home, they have all been self-contained. Now renting an apartment I have an opportunity to furnish and decorate to my liking. I will not lie, I did dread the processing of choosing the curtains. Deciding that this was no easy task I called upon my mother and sister-in-law who knew their stuff and got some tips. But I was pleasantly surprised when I started placing an order with curtains curtains curtains. The process was smooth and simple, much to my delight.

curtains curtains

The ordering process

As mentioned above, it was easier than anticipated. Most of us are used to buying ready-made curtains and mostly in store but I can certainly say I a convert now after trying out curtains (x3).

To start ordering the curtains, chosen the type of curtains you like then enter the width and drop measurements. You can choose either centimetres or inches, single or pair and specify the exact lengths. We choose to add a few centimetres to our measurements, it’s better it long than short.

Next step is selecting the heading style, here you have 6 options shown on the image below. Because each style has a picture to it, it makes it easier to decide which is right for your home.

Now that you’ve chosen the heading style, it’s time to choose the lining type. This one I had trouble with because I had never thought about lining with curtains so it did take me a couple of minutes to decide. But again having the images the name types helps when choosing.

Delivering times

The anticipated delivery time is between 5-10 days. When I placed the order, the curtains did arrive within 10 ten days if not less. It was sent via courier and the courier company texts you when they will deliver. I received the anticipated times and day when the curtains would be delivered so I arranged for someone to be home.

Packaging

Outside ordering the made to measure curtains, I always bought some ready-made curtains and curtain ties. The items came in a large box, all the contents were wrapped in protective plastic. I was pleased because for those of us who are hardly home and prefer to have items left in secure place it’s comforting to know that even if it rains my curtains won’t get ruined.

The curtains

The curtains were better than I excepted. The fabric is strong and the lining was perfect. Even though I had measured my curtains I decided to add a few centimetres and that worked in my favour. The curtains are sweeping the carpet when we open the curtains but that’s better than having short curtains.

Overall I am pleased with the curtains and the ordering process was smooth. The prices are really reasonable and affordable in my opinion. Curtains (x3) has a really wide variety of curtains and other home essentials which I was pleased about. I think especially for new homeowners or those redoing their homes, curtains (x3) has everything you need in one place to start you off and at a reasonable price. If you’re not sure about ordering curtains online, you can request a sample of your chosen curtains and see if you like what you see.

Have you ever placed curtain orders online before? What was your experience?

*Disclosure: I was gifted £250 to spend in store, all opinions expressed are my own*

I just ordered curtains for my new apt. The windows, while have character, are shorter than the standard. As is the ceiling. But, I chose to let them stay that way, billowing on the floor, for when I move again, to a place with standard size/height windows. Great post!
