Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

SPONSOR ROUNDUP: MAY 2019 COLLABORATIONS

In order to have a successful new month, it’s important to pay homage to the past and learn from it. At the end of each month, I take a moment to review all the wonderful collaborations we’ve had #ontheblog. Though this month was slightly calmer, I am still thankful for the wonderful May 2019 collaborations we’ve had.

Its been over 6 years since I started sharing sponsorship roundups as a way to give brands another spotlight to my readers. It is also a great way for my readers to check out the various collaborations we’ve had. The May 2019 collaborations list features some of our favourite brands and content contributions.

May 2019 collaborations

If you’re a brand or PR and want to collaborate with us on A July Dreamer, please reach out. Visit our Work with Me page for more details on the types of collaborations we offer. We accept collaborations in the following areas; Lifestyle, Travel, Fashion, Food+Drink and Beauty.

MAY 2019 COLLABORATIONS

The month of May was a fairly slow month collaborations but very busy personal wise. I spent most of the month travelling abroad for pleasure, church and work. It was nice to take a moment to step away from the blog and enjoy some social media detox.

Even with that being said, I am grateful that we had the opportunity to review the Vue Cinema in Oxford and watched Detective Pokemon. Vue Oxford is a cinema we are familiar with and visit often so it was nice to review a place we already love.

With Father’s Day coming up in a few short weeks, it would be nice to treat dad to a cinema visit but if not, we shared other gift ideas. All fathers are different but mine loves to get the same things almost always, ‘socks’. I can not think of a time when I take my father out for shopping that he didn’t buy new socks. We all wonder where all the socks he buys monthly fly off to as they are not at home.

We have often joked that when he is older and living at home, the one and only thing he will fuss about is not having enough socks. Is your father the same, does he almost always want the same thing as a gift? I mean don’t get me wrong, we do get him other gifts which he truly loves but socks are always one of those gifts.

Speaking of living at home, we shared some amazing budget-friendly tips for bathroom makeovers. These days, we are all counting the pennies and where possible I want to do some home updates myself. I might not be good at DIY but there are some updates that can be done even without DIY skills.

The May 2019 collaborations wouldn’t be complete if I did not mention our collaboration with Nordgreen, a Nordic wristwatch company. Since receiving the unisex watch, it has become my most worn accessory throughout May. There is something about the simplicity of the watch that makes me want to wear it often over anything.

I love going to the cinema. I go quite a lot actually. I saw Detective Pikachu and found out they filmed a bit just up the road from me.
