Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Fashion Monday} Men’s Fashion

Men’s Fashion is not something that I have shared loads on A July Dreamer. I mostly share fashion ideas for the ladies as that’s something I can personally relate to but with Men’s Fashion, I can only admire. There is nothing wrong with just admiring, my friends will tell you I can admire something up and down until outta sight. When I put together Fashionable He (gift Guide) and quickly followed with a feature Brantano footwear, I got a taste of Men’s Fashion. There are three facts about fashionably dressed men that I like:

  • I love ❤️ a man in a suit, FACT!
  • Smartly and cleanly dressed men are my Achilles heels, FACT!
  • I don’t mind a man who Stands Out, also FACT!

*Disclaimer: This is not about a man’s character because if it sucks he sucks too. I don’t care how gorgeously dressed he is, lasting impressions are always attitude and character *

Men's Fashion

Now that we’ve got that bit out-of-the-way, let’s get back to Men’s fashion.

{Fashion Monday} Men’s Fashion

I have been playing around on my mood boards with men’s fashion ideas. Prior to dating I was never too keen on men’s fashion but years later when I started dating it was paramount. There is something about a gorgeous dressed man who has me weak on the knees. My first real boyfriend used to knock-out it out the park with his fashion sense. There was no hair out-of-place, his shows were always polished and he smelt great. I always felt as though I fell in love with him every time I saw his because of his fashion sense.

Another people I have come to admire lately is my brother! boy does he know how to dress. For this post I have based the men’s fashion ideas on him because this is how he dresses. He is more of a smart casual dresser than an all formal dresser but he looks great in formal wear too. They say men’s fashion is easy, so long as it’s clean and fits then it’s alright. But I think it’s also nice to know what type of dresser you should be, formal, casual or smart casual? Once a man knows what looks best on them, they will wear that to the ground and in most respects it’s good.

What kind of dresser is the man/men in your life? What’s your thought’s on men’s fashion?

I love a man in a suit too, i remember the first time i saw my hubby in a suit almost 8 years ago now. He wears smart for work but is more of a jeans and t-shirt guy at weekends, having two little ones we dress how we can afford right now but saving for a shopping trip soon, i love the beach and country look for casual dress and smart shirts and jeans for times when a suit isnt required.

I have thoughts, I like the misters style of dressed. It was evolved over our years together. He is slender so a Euro cut is almost tailor made. I push him to step outside of the box a bit and he usually welcomes it.

These are awesome clothes! My husband has to wear a lot of the business causal attire for work so a lot of these are exactly what he wears. On the weekends he is all about the slip on sneaker shoes.

My husband has a better taste in fashion that I do. Most of the time, I ask his opinions on what to wear esp. during special occasions.

There was a study that found that women like and trust men more if they’re in a good suit and yes there’s definitely something appealing in that. I like a guy to dress stylish when it’s needed though and not overthink it when it’s casual. Nice moodboard.
