Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Review} 14 Days of Skinny Teatox

Skinny teatox

For the last couple of weeks I had been hearing a lot about teatox and if I am honest I had no clue what it was or what it even meant but I was curious and wanted to know more. Whilst doing my research (googling) I read a few articles that explained that teatox is a form of detox that can help people lose weight without reducing their calorie intake, this sounded well and good for me since one of my goals this year is to lose a stone so I can go back to being size 10. As luck would have it I was chosen as part of the BrandBacker campaign in conjunction with skinny teatox to trial their 14 day teatox and share my results with you. I decided to measure myself before I started the skinny teatox and I weighed in at 73kg, which if I am honest I cringe about because I have always been below 65kg.

The 14 day skinny teatox came with 2 bags one containing loose tea leaves and another with 7 tea bags. The tea leaves are for the morning and the tea bags every other night. In the box was also a strawberry shaped tea leave holder (for lack of better word), the instructions were simple enough and I started my teatox journey with the evening tea. Because I have a sweet tooth I had to put in a small teaspoon of sugar to enjoy the tea which was not bitter but I just needed my sugar. The instructions mentioned the night tea had senna so you needed to have access to the toilet facilities throughtout the day, for me this was not a problem as throughout the teatox journey I did not feel as though I had a senna effects as my bowel movement was normal and regular. The morning tea which can be drunk in afternoon had appetite suppressant properties which I felt at the beginning but my clever body worked it out fast and after 7 days I was having my afternoon sugar rush. I have been exercising every morning and my diet is better than usual. I have lost a few inches off my waist, thighs and arms as well as lost a bit of weight. I am not attributing all of this success to the teatox program as I am doing T-25, shakeology and the Teatox so it is my belief that the combination of these and proper diet has attributed to my weight loss and energy boost.

Would I recommend this program to my readers, I would say yes but check with your GP or dietician as these products affect everyone differently. Some reviewers have reported excess diarrhoea where as some like me it had no effect what so ever.

Have you ever tried any try of teatox?

What has been your experience?

I keep hearing about this detox tea all over facebook! Even though I’m not a tea drinker, I had considered this. Thanks for the review

Thank you for this review! I have been wondering about these tea detox programs as they have been popping up quite a bit. I know most tea is healthy for you while some can harbor a lot of caffeine. My only worry at this exact time is that I am currently breastfeeding so trying anything that may cause issues for my son is a worry to me. Perhaps once he weans I can look more in to these!

I think I would check with the GP before even considering doing this teatox especially since you’re breastfeeding

Thank you so much for this review. I haven’t heard about Teatox before but I’ve been looking for a product like this. I love that it’s loose tea leaves.

You’re most welcome, I am not big of loose leaves but love teas in general

This post is great info, especially because I have been looking into detox teas as well. I have read about Flat Tummy Tea and Skinny Bunny Tea. Mostly I want to get rid of the bloated feeling and my body surely does need a cleanse. You’re correct about checking in with your GP or dietitian first; there’s a part of me that feels uneasy about purchasing “detox” teas through retail sites.

I think its normal to be uneasy about purchasing without checking with GP first but I recommend you do check first.

I tried a tea detox before but because I hate tea – and any hot drink in general, I just could not get accustomed to the hot liquid, I hated the taste too, It’s great that this is working for you though. I wish I could enjoy something like this because I could really do with the energy boost!

I have never tried Teatox. I do love tea, so maybe I will give it a try. I do need to loose this couple of pounds from my belly. I will follow your example by exercising and then changing my diet. It is hard to find time to exercise though (this is just me finding excuse), but, I will try my best to lose some weight before this year end!

I have been seeing a lot of great reviews about Skinny Teatox. I have been cutting back on food and walking 3 to four times daily, but the weight just won’t budge. Hopefully, this would jump start losing the extra baggage.

I haven’t tried any of these detox or skinny teas. Personally I feel like they have more of a placebo effect than anything. I’m also not a huge tea drinker unless it’s sweet tea from the south.

I have been hearing a lot about this teatox. I know sometimes when we get back from traveling I feel so weighted down from all the stress and of course what we eat a teatox would be great. Sounds like you had great results; I need to look into this.

I love tea in general, so if it helps to detox or slim me down, then all the merrier. I’d be all about it. I’m disappointed to see that my favourite cuppa tea flavour isn’t here in the USA now that I’ve moved down (Tetley Tea Orange Pekoe). My Mom often has to mail me some down from Canada when I run out, haha oh the struggle.
