Being a summer baby, I am totally biased when I say my favourite season is summer and I am excited to share our list of summer bucket list activities. There is so much I want to do this summer, from roads trips all through to camping or better yet glamping somewhere fun. I am excited to highlight all the things that made it on our summer bucket list activities itinerary.
Our summer bucket list activities were born out of want of doing things I have always wanted to do. When I was young, our summers were simple and almost predictable and not in a bad way. As an adult, I have so many things that I want to experience and things that I have been all my bucket list for a long time.
Summer Bucket List Activities: 23 Fun Things To Do
Every once in a while, in Britain, we experience the best summer weather and for such instances, I compiled this list. I have thought of 23 fun things to do anywhere in the world but more so when the British summer is at its best. Summer is the weather of being outdoors which means more fun and games can be had.
Glamping vs Camping
I was not born for camping, I am more of a glamping girl but I think it is important to experience both. This is why I am hoping to go camping this year, last year we went glamping in Sussex and the Lake District. This time around, I want to go camping or even glamping somewhere close to home.
Lavender fields vs Farms
Last year we managed to visit both, this year we are hoping to take our parents to the local farm. There is something about going to a farm, picking your own veg and fruits. For this first time ever I felt incredibly proud to have picked my own veg and fruits as opposed to buying them.
Road Trips vs Flying
Whilst I have been doing more of flying than road trips, this summer, I want to take my family on a lovely road trip. I think its nice when a family goes on a road trip and just spend loads of time together. There are so many places I want to visit but obviously, we can only do a few.
Festivals vs Concerts
I have only ever been to a concert once and that was really fun, what I want to try this year is a festival. Reading is a mere 20 minutes away from me but still not been to the Reading festival. I am hoping this is the year it changes and I will attend my first ever festival.
Days Trips: Home or Abroad
Thanks to Caroline of Travel Eat Slay, I have found my rhythm in day trips abroad and now looking to do day trips at home. I was never one for a day trip abroad as I never felt you got enough time to truly experience a city/town. That has now changed, I have found myself experiencing more on a day trip that a few days in any city.
Staycations or Vacations
I travel abroad every month and almost always feel like I am constantly on vacation even though I almost always work through them. This summer I want to dedicate some time to staycations and get to know my local but not neglecting any special vacations abroad.
Night Markets vs Weekend Markets
I have never been to a night market but everyone seems to love them but visited a few weekend markets which have been fun. I think it would be nice to visit a night market and see how it compares to a weekend market.
Open Cinema vs Indoor Cinema
I have always loved the idea of an outdoor or open cinema and its something I would love to experience this summer. When I was young we used to attend many impromptu outdoor cinemas and we enjoyed being outside watching movies.
Home Spa vs Hotel
When it comes to spas I much rather prefer to be pampered but I can save money by pampering myself at home. This is not something I have ever done but definitely appeals to the more budget conscious me. I seem to have all the necessary items just never the time to quite relax.
National Trust vs English Heritage
As a member of both I know I want to utilise my membership to the fullest more so the English Heritage one. It is often rare for me to visit the English heritage sites because there are a few local to me. This summer I am hoping to use the day trips and staycations to find more sites to visit.
Museums vs Aquariums/Zoo
I can not remember the last time I visited any of these within the UK, I am hoping to change that pretty soon. I want to visit the Natural history museum in London, Chester Zoo and whatever aquarium I can think of.
There are so many other things that I want to do this summer but I think these are enough to keep me busy. I am excited to see just how many I will manage to tick off.
What are you looking forward to doing this summer? Anything local that I have not included on my list? The biggest thing I have not included on the list is visiting the beach as I intend to do that as often as I can when the weather is nice.

Well I live and grew up in the same village as Hitchin Lavender, so I have to give a thumbs up to the Lavender Field suggestion. We are always heading there this time of the year, mainly to take photographs!

I’ve never been camping or glamping before. Now I have two boys though who keep begging to go camping, so I may need to bite the bullet.

Writing a summer bucket list for my girl is something that I keep meaning to do! But I think it’s important to pack lots of exciting adventure into the summer holidays.

The markets are tempting. I’ve been to a weekend one ages ago. I must check and see if it’s still on as it was nice to have a walk around and buy fresh produce.

This summer we’re staying put – we’re currently moving home, so I’ll be nest building with the kids and I for the summer. These are all super ideas for things we could do though, instead of going on holiday.

We didn’t make a summer bucket list – I only have one week off, as summer is my busiest time at work, so my kids will be at summer camp the rest of the time. Maybe I should make a list for the weekends though.

Great summer bucket list. I find the summer goes so quickly especially the kids’ school holidays that I want to make the most of the time we have. I’ve also got a summer bucket list and inspired by your list have added a few ideas to it such as going to an outdoor cinema and going to a festival.

This is a great summer bucket list. We are going overseas this summer to visit my family (our first overseas trip in a few years) but I do like a good staycation too!
