The Sunday Currently April 2020 is the third edition of the series in which I share things that had happened in the previous month and what I am most looking forward to. Today is three weeks to the day since we returned from Lisbon, Portugal and have been self-isolating ever since. Self-isolation feels slightly different when it wasn’t your idea and can be challenging at best but we have found ways to keep ourselves entertained.
At the beginning of March, we were optimistic in our planning and general view of life. Later in the month when self-isolation was no longer a suggestion but mandatory we knew things had escalated further than we had hoped. A few weeks into mandatory social isolation it has sunk in that life as we know it has changed. For the Sunday Currently April 2020, I will focus on all the positives from the previous month.

Sunday Currently April 2020 – Monthly Series
Last month I was stocked to have had our first press trip of the year in the works but unfortunately, we couldn’t go on the trip due to some unforeseen circumstances. We were understandably heartbroken but we know we will have another chance later on in the year. Many of our travel plans for the rest of the year have been cancelled indefinitely which is sad but expected.
Over the next few weeks, we will be evaluating whether to request a refund for the cancelled flights or to get a travel voucher instead to support the struggling airlines that we booked with. I know that I am fortunate to have little to no change in my work life as so many people have lost their only income and I can only imagine the impact that has had on their families.
With that being said, for the Sunday currently April 2020 edition I am;
- Reading – nothing at the moment, I have zero to no motivation to read any books.
- Writing – I have a few draft posts waiting to be written throughout the month.
- Listening – In these tough times, I have found listening to gospel music very uplifting. Check out ‘Never would have made it gospel‘ on Spotify.
- Thinking – Things I can do to stay uplifted and motivated throughout self-isolation.
- Smelling – rain, it just finished raining.
- Wishing – there was a motivational drink on offer
- Hoping – to rejuvenate the blog and share value-added content
- Wearing – pyjamas.
- Watching – The prince of Egypt.
I love sharing the Sunday currently posts especially when I am trying to curb the lack of blogging mojo that I have been experiencing lately. Whenever I am struggling to write content for the blog, I noticed that by writing a series that I enjoy putting together and sharing highlights on my life, it makes it easier to start writing.
The month of April will be a tough one because all of my travel plans have been cancelled thanks to the virus. I know this is out of my control but it does not mean I can not get frustrated by the situation. I think it’s healthy to get your emotions out and then focus on what you have control over.
How are you coping?
