The Sunday Currently March 2020 is the second edition in this monthly series where I highlight things that had happened and what I am most looking forward to. Unlike most Sunday currently editions, the Sunday Currently March 2020 edition is one tainted by the recent Coronavirus global outbreak and travel cancellations. Regular readers will remember my excitement at finally being able to visit Vietnam, a bucket list destination but alas it was not meant to be.
I am a strong believer in the belief that everyone should work with what they’ve got and not be defeated by the change in uncontrollable circumstances. When we learnt our flights and bookings to Vietnam would be cancelled we were devastated but we would not wallow in self-pity. Instead, we worked with what we had, changed destination (went back to Seoul) and made the best of a bad situation. This was the best we could do at such short notice but so glad we did it.

Sunday Currently March 2020 – Monthly Series
For the month of March 2020 and whilst, I am spending half of it under house quarantine (self-imposed), I am most excited about two trips that we have planned in the pipeline. The first is our girls trip to Lisbon (Portugal), I am in need of some Vitamin D and it’s nice seeing that Spring is on its way. Our second trip of the month is in collaboration with Swansea Tourism board, this is our first press-trip of the year and we are super stoked about.
The month of March 2020 promises to be one of the busiest months so far this year with two trips booked, job change, house move and self-quarantine. The self-quarantine is due to the fact that I spent 7-days in South Korea where the numbers of coronavirus cases are soaring at an alarming rate. Whilst I do not have the virus, it’s recommended to self-quarantine for at least 14-days to monitor myself and report any symptoms I might present.
I am super excited about this month and there is so much I will be sharing in the next few days. For now, I am making plans for things I want to accomplish in the next 2-weeks as I try to enjoy quarantine. Not sure when I will be able to have such ‘free-time’ on my hands, but for now here is the Sunday currently March 2020 edition.
- Reading – The adventures of an awkward black girl, such a great book.
- Writing – This post, I am still struggling to push content through I am ok with that now.
- Listening – Still the same thing as last month, the Les Mills Body Pump 112.
- Thinking – About how I shall spend the next 2-weeks at home.
- Smelling – Jasmine rice, I love this rice, best thing ever.
- Wishing – I could fall asleep, insomnia and jetlag is not a great combination.
- Hoping – I can catch up on sleep and all the shows I never got to watch.
- Wearing – Gym wear, struggling to dress in anything else.
- Watching – Nothing, just a re-run of the same shows I watch daily.
March 2020 promises to be such an exciting new month, I am ready for all the changes coming my way even self-quarantine is welcome. What is something you are most looking forward to this month?

Wow your March sounds exciting for sure. I have nothing planned but now wish I had. Love your take on making the best out of a bad situation- it’s not your fault and I bet Seoul was beautiful. Enjoy Lisbon – one is my favourite city breaks

Glad you were able to reuse your tickets and still go adventuring, even if it has resulted in having to quarantine yourself. I have a friend who is Italy on holiday and they have just imposed a lock-down so she isn’t even allowed out of her hotel room at present.

I am most looking forward to starting to decorated my hall way. It’s never been done since we moved in over 10 years ago.

That’s a shame that you couldn’t go to Vietnam even though the situation there doesn’t seem that bad. My friends teaching out there and has said there are so few cases. But it’s good you got an alternative holiday anyway x
