Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Take Twelve Trips September 2018

Take Twelve Trips is a travel challenge which challenges everyone to travel at least once a month. I joined the challenge back in 2015 and since then it has been incredible. Last month I visited Seoul for two weeks and now want to share the September 2018 highlights

Seoul was the first international and solo long haul flight I ever took back in   2015. Since then I have been visiting once or twice a year, having bestie makes it fun. I rarely touristy stuff and only go to spend time with my bestie. The September 2018 visit was no different but will be sharing best places to visit for first-timers.

Take Twelve Trips – September 2018

Seoul is such an incredible city, it is so lively but within it can be so peaceful. Ever since I started visiting, I have not stopped eating Korean BBQ on my every visit. I have tried other foods and if I am honest, I have enjoyed most of them.

This year was the first time I went to the Han river (Hanging) and enjoyed a picnic. I did new things that I never thought I would ever do whilst visiting Seoul. Definitely excited for my return next when I was to explore more places outside Seoul.

Seoul Highlights – Week 1

Arriving in Korea, I took a bus from the airport straight through to the Seoul. One thing I love about Korea is its public transport across the city, to/from the airport. The bus from Incheon through to Guii is about an hour but with traffic can be longer.

The next few days were spent making new friends, going out on the town and eating. What I love about Seoul and Korea, in general, is just how cheap everything is. During the first week, I probably ate my entire body weight and more. I do not regret it as it was super yummy foods and mostly healthier than western diet.

Seoul Highlights -Week 2

The final week in Seoul has been such a whirlwind of a time, I barely remember. I spent most of my time looking after my mental wellness and personal time. This was all during the day and during the night we would be out on the town.

When I am home in the UK, I rarely go out on the town as I am a homebody. But when I visiting Korea, it’s like I am the most outgoing person you’ve ever met. I am someone who enjoys there own company but I am very outgoing as well.

One of the big things I will miss in Seoul apart from bestie is waking up whenever. Suffering from insomnia it’s not fun not being able to just enjoy a good nights sleep. In Korea, I have been sleeping like a log, though I still woke up really early.

I will definitely miss being in Seoul, meeting new people and some crazy wonderful cafes. Most days I woke up early just to go people watch and work at a cafe.
