Last week Sunday a couple of bloggers and I met up in London to attend the ‘afternoon tea tour bus’ organised by Thistle, BB Bakery and Joe’s Blog network. I will be honest, on Saturday after having a ‘spot of afternoon tea‘ with my sister I felt like I had done enough social events and needed to chill on Sunday. You know for me weekends are the only sanctuary time I get these days to my self, where life is on hold and I take in the moment. Anyway, after a chat with my sister she convinced me I should go that people actually do this and they enjoy it big time and she said I should have fun. So with my sister’s nagging voice in my head, Sunday came she left to heard to her place and I went to London.
Can I just say I had the best time ever!!!
I arrived half an hour early to the meet up point at the back of the London eye but that was good as I managed to find a fellow blogger who was attending the event and we got chatting, I also managed to check out London’s version of the Slug & Lettuce restaurant to grab a hot chocolate. Long before I knew what was happening almost everyone had arrived and we were all busy chatting, making noise like kids and we were waiting on our tour bus.
The tour bus operated by BB Bakery arrived and OMG, it’s not only pretty but it carried everything I was craving that day – cupcakes, scones, mini sandwiches, juice and different types of teas and hot chocolate. When you have been on a strict T-25 and Shakeology diet, these sweet temptations are a must for a weekend out. What I loved about the tour bus is it’s red, double decker and had my favourite kind of treats. Wouldn’t you want to board this one just for the hell of it??
You can imagine, it was absolutely amazing and very salivating time. We boarded the bus, the lovely tour guides (two French young ladies) explained what we were to expect and informed us they would be coming around to take our orders whilst the bus made it’s way on our route. Obviously y’all know that I love my hot chocolate so I asked if they had that and yes they did.
During the tour we wanted to have some music on, and we got our wish a fellow blogger played it on her phone. The backstreet boys “I want it that way” started playing and we all became singers it was really funny, the nighties were brought back for a short while. We had such a lovely time that I am still missing the singing, the hot chocolate, the company plus the treats it was a definitely day to remember.
I know I do not live far from London and probably a ridiculous idea to some but I have always wanted to just go on tour of London and spend a night in a Hotel in London without thinking about rushing for the underground train so I can make my connecting train to Oxford. I have always loved the idea of taking my time and I think it would be convenient to find a hotel which is not too far from all the London attractions but does not cost an arm and a leg to stay at. I have actually arranged for a weekend in London with a friend and having a look at Thistle hotel and can not wait to go back on the afternoon tea bus tour.
It was such a lovely afternoon, one to remember.
