Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter

With winter almost upon us, this is the perfect time to Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter. I am sure over the summer your body came out with 50 shades of tan and now is the perfect time to even the skin. The harsh elements of winter often eat away at the skin causing it to become damaged and dry. Having a sound proof skincare routine and knowing what works for you is always a great start.

I have often spoken about the CTM (Cleanse, Toner, Moisture) steps and the importance of following these steps in your routine. All the skincare routines that I follow seasonally follow these simple steps and has helped protect my skin regardless of the season. Our hope is to help you Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter. But first, make sure you have knuckled down a routine that works for you and fits into your lifestyle.

Another thing to note is, knowing your skin type is very important. I have combination skin which can be a pain if you don’t know what products work for your skin type. For those with oily skin, don’t knock it until you learn of the Benefits of Oily Skin. Did you know oily skin keeps the wrinkles at bay and is a natural skin moisturiser. In this article, we hope we can help you Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter.

Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter

When it comes to Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter it can be as simple as 1-2-3. It all starts with a stable Skincare Routine that is suitable for your skin type and aims to nourish your skin. At the end of every season, I look through my beauty basket and replace any products that are not seasonally suitable. But I also have products that I can fall back on all year round and protect my skin adequately.

One thing you have to remember is winter can be truly brutal on your skin and it’s important to use products to add to the skin. I suggest replacing all cleansers with those that will add hydration to your skin. You will also need moisturisers that are thick and are designed to be your skin hydrated and nourished. Another thing to remember is that you need to continue using SPF throughout the winter and not just summer.

During winter, our skin can experience cold irritation we can cause dry skin and flakiness. The cold air tends to suck moisture out of your skin and this leads to dryness, for eczema sufferers can experience flare ups. Due to lack of UV light during winter and use of artificial lighting, this can cause acne. Use masks to help draw out impurities from the skin and allow the skin looking radiant within minutes.

The face is not the only part of the body that needs help with Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter. Unlike my face, the rest of my body has dry skin and I flake if I don’t moisturise. Moisturising is so important for me not only does it protect my skin from the elements but makes it look more healthy. I often use shear butter or oils like coconut and argan oil to stay moisturised.

Often I use the same types of oils for my hair to keep is moisturised and tie my hair into protect styles to protect it from the cold. Other than oils, I also make sure to wear hats and beanies throughout the season to be my mane looking healthy. Do you ever Transition Your Skincare Routine from Autumn to Winter? What products do you often use to keep your face, body and hair looking healthy and moisturised?

My skin definitely feels duller and drier in the winter. I love Perricone MD moisturiser which has SPF30 in it and swear by Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean face wash which is gentle but removes make up well.

I tend to use more oils in the winter than in the summer and my moisturising creams are heavier too x

These sound like super products. My skin gets so dry during this windy, cold weather and I really need to do something about it.

My skin definitely gets drier in the winter months, with the cold wind and central heating. I love using a moisturising mask regularly
