Travel 2016 is the code for next year, life was not meant to be lived in one place rather travel as often and as far as you can go.
When 2014 started, it was a year that almost broke me in two. I did not see it coming neither was I expecting it to be the way it was but it was how it was. Every now and again, I sit back and reflect on how it all started and how it all ended and realised how blessed I am and just how short life is. I made a decision and a promise to myself in 2014 that I am still feeling the effects of today and that was/is to travel as much as I can whilst I am still young because experience is always the best teacher.
For the first time ever in my life, I woke up one day and made a decision to go visit my country of birth Zambia. I did not care how much money I had, all I knew is it was something I needed to do and I did it. I was scared out of my mind, it had been over 10 years since we left. I knew nothing anymore and nothing was as it was when I was a kid. I persevered, I discovered things about myself that I did not know, I learnt about myself and how far I could go. It was one experience that I am very happy to have experienced, since then I have been on a mission to go everywhere I can.
2015 Travel
2015 has been a year that I have experienced so many wonderful travels, I have been to Seoul; South Korea (twice), I have been to Amsterdam; The Netherlands, Munich; Germany, Brussels; Belgium, Kaunas; Lithuania driven through 5 countries (France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Germany, Poland and finally Lithuania), New Jersey and New York; USA and also to Aberystwyth Wales. All of these travels I have done either by plane or on the road. I can not tell you how happy I have been travelling to all these places, I feel like I have accomplished something that was only a dream at one point and now it’s a reality.
2016 will soon be rolling in and I have been thinking of where I want to travel to and how I will be getting to these places. Lately I have been thinking about going on a cruise, but every time I mention it I am greeted with the how old are you? question I did not think it mattered how old you are when it comes to going on a cruises. I have never been on a cruise ship before and it has always been a dream of mine to do it at least once. I have done quite a bit of research and because I am not sure how I would fair on a cruise been thinking about taking short trips to start with like 2 or 4 night European cruise and if all goes well I can do something like a 12/14 night cruise to the Caribbean. Now how does one go about finding what cruise would work best for them, I was recommended to visit the Bolsover cruise club as a starting point. I have been browsing their site as part of my research for a week now and I am absolutely loving some of the awesome deals they currently have ongoing. They have cruises to all the popular destinations like Norwegian Fjords, Transatlantic cruises, canary islands and even Mediterranean cruises. I was very pleased to see that one of the most recommended cruise lines on this side of the pond P&O cruises is also one that Bolsover cruise club covers which is truly happy days for me.

For me travelling has become such an integral part of my life that it seems strange not to go somewhere every few weeks. Travelling does not need to be expensive, you can be a tourist in your own town or the neighbouring town. You can plan for the big travels well in advance or be spontaneous and travel abroad for the weekend.

I wish that we could travel more. There are so many places I want to visit – Paris, New York, Prague and Krakow to name just a few. It’s not possible at the moment though as my daughter has just started secondary school and they are very keen for them to attend every single day and not take any holidays!

Wow you have traveled to so many different places. That’s crazy. I would love to do that. There’s still a lot of places I’d love to see. Not realistic with 2 children unfortunately but I’m going to new York again early next year with my best friend for a getaway. Can’t wait.

I used to travel a lot before I got married. I visited at least 2 countries per year. I have 2 kids now, can’t go anywhere for too long and kinda expensive to travel for family of 4
Miranda says
I agree it is expensive to travel as a family, hence why I am making sure I travel now before kids and if possible once I do have kids will travel after saving up

While agree that traveling enriches our lives and we should do it while we can, like you said while your young, it is expensive you can’t deny that. I wanted to see if I could visit my foster parents in Texas and found that one ticket was $215, well times that by four to bring my family, add all the fees they tack on that’s about a grand just to get there…not counting hotel and eating. So I don’t know if there’s some top secret way to get cheap air fair cheaper, but I’ve checked several sights and can’t figure out how all four of us could travel for under $500…it’s harder for some than it is for others.
Miranda says
It definitely is hard for some, I can not even imagine.
Jaime Nicole says
