And there off, everyone has placed their bets, who will win the race? As much as the races are about placing bets, winners and losers, it’s also about the best dressed. Have you ever been to the races, have you ever thought about what to wear? I for one have thought about what I would like to wear and lord knows what hat I would choose. But today’s post isn’t about what I would wear but rather some ideas for the men fashion.
One thing I always love about watching the best dressed at the races is all the bright colours. Looking through all the various enclosures and the private boxes, everyone is dressed for summer. No one dresses like they are off to the races but more a meeting place for all people from various walks of life. In today’s article we aim to share our tips on what to wear to the races focusing on men’s fashion.
What to wear to the races
Every social event as prestigious as the Royal Ascot requires a dress code of sorts. It is not a place wear your nice pair of jeans and flip-flops will take a fancy. You will definitely need to up your game a thousands folds there is a strict dress code. In this article we aim to share some of the outfits you could wear to the races.
A Winning Combo!
Wearing a suit and tie is always a safe bet and a winning combo in my book for many occasions. Looking through some of Suit Direct collection, we loved the Pierre Cardin two piece set. It is always nice when the suit not only fits well but feels good wearing it and can be worn to many occasions. Pair this with your best formal wear shoes to finish off the look.
Casual Smart Combo
Not everyone is keen on wearing suits but when it is a requirement, you need to think outside the box. It doesn’t have to be boring, as I mentioned already at the races you can brighten it up. Pair your nice pair of suit trousers with a nice shirt and thrown on a brightly coloured blazer.
Now depending on which enclosure you find yourself in, there are four to make note of. The Royal enclosure is one full of simplicity but top hats are a strict requirement. Queen Anne enclosure is similar to the royal enclosure except the top hat is not mandatory. Then you have Village enclosure which is a more recent one, you can spice up the colours in this enclosure. And finally the Windsor enclosure which is the more relaxed of all the enclosures at the Royal Ascot.
The races are one of the most incredible social events where you can enjoy in the fun and dress your best. I hope to one day make it to the races but until then I will stick to seeing it on the telly.

I’ve never been to the races and I didn’t realize men should wear suits. I learned so much about the dress code for the different enclosures. This is very interesting!

Here in New York people don’t dress so nice when they go to the racetrack. Of course the Kentucky Derby or Saratoga are a little different adn trendy fashions are the rule.

I don’t think my husband and I have attended a race, at least not in a long time. It’s really nice to have a guide like this for men. We don’t often have fashion tips for them so this really helps!
