Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨

Spring Beauty Routine {2018}

Spring is a time of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth, all based around starting again. It is supposedly Spring time in the UK but the weather doesn’t seem to have received the memo. Last week we had the #BeastfromtheEast which brought snow with it, it wasn’t welcome to say the least. Due to the extreme change in weather I put together my Spring Beauty Routine.

Reading through the blog, I realised I have never shared a Spring Beauty Routine before. Often I share Winter skincare and Summer skincare routine but nothing spring related. It is not that I do not have a routine, I do but it is fairly similar to the Autumn skincare routine. But this year, the Spring Beauty Routine is slightly different because I have a new gadget. I was recently sent the Comedo Suction Microdermabrasion Machine by *Krasr. As part of my Spring Beauty Routine, it’s good for removing impurities and reducing the look of fine lines.

Spring Beauty Routine {2018}

When it comes to creating a beauty routine, I always recommend first knowing your skin type. Because armed with this information, you can make informed decisions regarding what products to use. What you don’t want is using products that will take away from your skin instead of being beneficial. I have known for a number of years now what products work for me and which don’t. It truly pays to visit a dermatologist or beauty shops and get a determination of what skin type you have. Once you know, then you can get busy with putting together your own Spring Beauty Routine.

As mentioned previously, Spring is a time for rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection and regrowth. Put together a routine that will support your skin’s rejuvenation, renewal and regrowth. Ensure you check the products you’re using to make sure there are no harsh chemicals in them. The Spring Beauty Routine that I follow is simple;

  • Cleansing – I often use Neutrogena Hydro Boost, Garnier Micellar water or wipes or Simple face wash. This products cleanse my skin without causing any damage to the top layer of my skin. But penetrate the skin to get rid of blackheads and other impurities. Since receiving the Microdermabrasion from KRASR an incredible home facial machine I incorporated into my cleansing routine. It stimulates growth of new and healthy skin without making your skin appear dull.
  • Serum – currently I have been using different Korean natural serums which have been good for my skin. During Winter and Autumn I often apply toner before I add the serum but for Spring I prefer to skip the toner.
  • Moisturize – often when I travel I use Simple’s face moisturiser because it has multi vitamins. I don’t know what the weather will be like at my destination so I want a product that will protect me regardless of the weather. Simple moisturiser does exactly that, when I am home I have a few brands that I use.
  • Make-up {optional} – as I rarely wear makeup I can not recommend many brands. On a daily basis I wear my L’Oreal lipsticks, Lancome mascara and Yves-Rocher liner. This is all the makeup I wear on a daily basis because I personally prefer less makeup on my face.

Get your skin ready for Spring!

Looking after our skin should be a top priority but it is often one that many people overlook. The skin is after-all the largest and most exposed organ on your body, why wouldn’t you want to protect it. Here are a few tips on how you can get your skin spring ready.

  • Drink more water
  • Eat what’s in season
  • Spend more time outdoors
  • Moisturise, moisturise again and then some more
  • Use natural products

Take the time to invest in good products and gadgets like the Comedo Suction Microdermabrasion Machine. Get a saloon facial in the comfort of your own home and look after your skin. Those who would like to purchase any of the Krasr products use the code mirandam20off. This code gives you 20% on any purchases made from Krasr.

    I use the Simple face wipes as well and I find them very gentle with my skin. I usually use them at the end of the day, to clean my face before going to bed.

    Changing your skin routine depending on the season is such a great idea – I wish that I could spend more [or any] time on my skincare, I think my face would appreciate it!

    What a fab routine, I also love the Garnier Micellar Water. My skin is awful at the moment and this has prompted me to sort out a proper routine.
