Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Mother’s Day is a day dedicated to ALL mothers, celebrating motherhood and influence of mother’s in society. I decided to created Mother’s Day Gift Ideas post to share what I am getting the mother’s in my life. For some reason, Mother’s Day seems to be the time when I am always traveling. It is not that I choose it on purpose but rather seems the Mother’s Day weekend is cheaper. With that being said, I figured I share Mother’s Day Gift Ideas of what I am getting mum’s. I do hope it give’s you an idea of what you can give your maternal figure apart from love and time.

Tips of Choosing Mother’s Day Gift

If your mother is anything like mine then she is a planner and multi-tasker who rarely rests. She is often on her feet doing everything possible for her family’s needs and often forgets about herself. We all know mother’s make sacrifices for their families and its up to us to thank them. What ways can we thank them;

  • Pregnant Mamma – Needs support preparing for baby’s arrival
  • New Mum – what does she need the most; rest, being pampered and baby items
  • Pro Mamma – She needs more rest that the world can give, she requires pampering all day

Whilst my tips are basic, it gives you an idea of what you should be considering to gift the mamma in your life. Unfortunately of late Mother’s Day life other similar celebrations has become overly commercialized. Don’t get me wrong, the majority of presents out there will help some mamma somewhere. With that being said, here are my Mother’s Day Gift Ideas.

When you think about who a mother is whether they gave birth to you or not, it’s astounding. Think about all the things the maternal person in your life has gifted to you and not just physical gifts but emotional too. Also to those Father’s who are playing the role of mum, not clue what they are doing but doing it anyway. Now that you’ve thought about it, here are some Mother’s Day Gift Ideas.

Regardless of whether they are a new mum or a pro mamma, they all need pampering and rest. For new mum’s rest is important but they will want things for the new baby too. From diapers  to new clothing, my mother knits baby clothes and sells on Ebay {Click HERE}. For the pro mum’s there many things on top of pampering and some time to themselves that we can give. I love gifting my mum with personalised items, during Galentine’s Day I personalised a ladies watch.

Working with Jessops last month, it gave me another idea to create a canvas using pictures from our latest adventure. Having a Bags of Love gift card from previous purchase, I decided to create a personalised canvas. I know my mum will love it for sure, it saves the memory of the time we spent together.

But no mother’s day is truly complete without a beautiful card and flowers, I found a gorgeous card in Lidl. I definitely wasn’t expecting to find one in the store but glad I did and now sent it off.  The final gift to be sent off to my mother are flowers, she loves flowers and need to buy some. Not sure what company to use which will deliver some really fresh flowers before Sunday. Any ideas?

    I love that you’ve split the ideas into 3 categories! I got my mum a mystery box from firebox, so the contents were a secret ☺️
