Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

2025 Travel Bucket List ✈️

This time last year, I was perched on my sofa planning out my trips for 2024, and here I am again, planning out my 2025 travel bucket list. It’s weird to think that in a few short weeks, we will be leaving 2024 behind and starting 2025. I am both excited and nervous about 2025 because not only do I get to live out my 2025 travel bucket list countries, I am embarking on the fifth and final year of my 5-year financial plan I set in motion back in 2021, but the latter is for another blog post.

As an avid traveller, I live by the Dalai Lama’s quote “Every year, go someplace you’ve never been before” and I have been doing that for almost 9 years now and best believe my 2025 travel bucket list will reflect that too, God willing. But if you know anything about me, you will know that I love repeating destinations that I either loved exploring or potentially giving a second chance. In my 2024 travel bucket list post, I shared 8 destinations I wanted to visit and majority were new destinations to me.

This time last year, I was perched on my sofa planning out my trips for 2024 and here I am again sat here planning out my 2025 travel bucket list. It’s weird to think that in a few short weeks, we will be leaving 2024 behind and starting 2025.

2025 Travel Bucket List ✈️

As I prepare to board my flight for my last overseas trip for 2024, I can’t help but feel nostalgic about how far I have come in terms of travel. I have been solo travelling since 2016 but as I have mentioned on these pages before, I did not come from a family that travelled often. Travel was a privilege for us and this is still true today but I also mentioned how, once I was financially comfortable I embarked on this beautiful journey and never looked back.

I have been to over 51 countries across the globe and flown to many European and Asian destinations multiple times, and I feel like I am only beginning. One thing I have yet to do and have been wanting to try for the last couple of years is ‘going on a cruise’. My friends and I have been considering going on a cruise for a while now, and finally, I decided to go with or without them. If you, too, are thinking about choosing your 2025 cruise, then gather here as I am too excited I can not contain my job. But, before I can get to go on a cruise, I need to figure out my 2025 travel bucket list first.

The following destinations have been on one or more travel bucket lists I have curated in the past, and I am hoping 2025 will be the year I get to finally tick them off. I have learned how to take 58 days off even when you only get 28 days of annual leave at work, thankfully I get 30 days so I will be taking full advantage.

  • Europe
    • Bologna, Italy
    • Sofia, Bulgaria
    • Antwerp, Belgium
    • Krakow, Poland
    • Tallin, Estonia
    • Riga, Latvia
    • Cork, Ireland
  • Africa
    • Zanzibar, Tanzania
    • Victoria Falls, Zambia
    • Cape Town, South Africa
  • Americas
    • Hawaii, USA
    • Cancun, Mexico
  • Asia
    • Taiwan
    • Cambodia
    • Philippines

Although I know I will most likely be able to do a lot of these places next year, I have pulled them all from my existing travel buckets, and my current goal is to visit all these places before I am 40. I was re-reading my 30 before 30 travel bucket list, and I realised how much I enjoyed visiting every single country. I have decided that for 2025, I will revive my love for #take12trips in 12 months. This was a great motivator back in the day, and now I want to revive it and do it again, and who knows, I might just do a cruise.
