Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Fashion Monday} Butterfly Twists and Stripes

Thank you Butterfly Twists for gifting me these awesome Jade pumps.
Butterfly Twists & Stripes

Shoe shopping (ok shopping all in all), where would I be without you, those who know me know how few many shoes I have in my collection both at my home and my parents house. I am the loved shopper because I do not discriminate, if I love the shoes (or any other clothing item) I am buying them, if I think I need them for work then I am 100% buying them that’s how I operate these day. You should have seen my face last week when the lovely people at Butterfly Twists contacted me for a possible collaboration, I was so excited I may or may not have done a little dance in the office making my colleagues think I had won the lottery (well close enough).
I will start by saying prior to Butterfly Twists contacting me I had not heard of them before, since I got the e-mail at work I waited until my lunch time (might have moved it up 10 minutes) and set about checking out their website to see what they offer and boy oh boy do they have a huge collection of everything. It was like father Christmas had decided to play another prank on me and said shop till you drop (obviously the purchase disagreed). After perusing the website, I replied to them and we agreed on me choosing from the ballet pumps  category and I chose the Jade pumps (£60) in Zebra stripes which are absolutely gorgeous. The Jade pumps are part of the new collection, perfect shoe for the woman who can’t live without her trainers. Jade is a skater-style slip on featuring on-trend zebra print pony hair. I love them because they look like sneakers, have a hard but comfortable base and they are not only strong but foldable too.
Jade butterfly twists
The Jade is our take on the popular skater style shoe. These lightweight slip ons are skid resistant and feature a premium pony hair upper in zebra. Feet are cushioned by a memory foam insole, while a micro-suede lining keeps the shoes feeling cool and fresh.
I am not one for wearing stripes but how could I resist these zebra styled pumps, spring is coming and we will shortly be leaving the knee-high boots behind (correction – I have left my boots behind) and start enjoying the feel of flat pumps on our feet. When I took me for a dry (of wet since it was raining in Poland) run, the shoes are comfortable but maybe I should have chosen a bigger size only issue is I am thinking the bigger size would be too big. Because they are foldable and I have to give my feet chance to break into them they were catching me a bit at the back when walking which was slightly annoying but once I broke through them, they have been fine and I am loving styling them with the few striped items I have in my closet.
What do you think of how I have styled the Jade pumps? Have you ever shopped from Butterfly Twists before?
