Embrace the heels! Hmmm, really? Yes really and why because heels adds to your already existing sexiness. But not all of us like wearing heels so how can one learn to embrace the heels? Well simples, just wear block heels and you’re sorted. Honestly that’s it, because most of us think heels, stilettos to be exact are the only slim death contraptions that some man designed to screw us over.
No! those are not the only heels that can (1) stand out (2) make your look even more sexy and (3) the only ones that can be considered as heels.
When I was at university, a little over 3 years ago now, I never wore anything less than 4 inch heels when going out. I love(d) my heels and I wasn’t going to compromise. Fast forward to today and I feel like my death contraptions are plotting to kill me because even the thought of wearing heels make me mentally tired so I stopped wearing them. That’s until my mum reminded me stilettos heels are not the only heels one can wear. I went home, check my closet and found I have a few block heels that I never even worn.

Embrace the Heels.
There is no time like the present to start something new, so yesterday I decided to go to Swindon for church and thought what better way to start retraining myself to embrace the heels than to wear them to church and then to lunch/shopping in Oxford with my sister. I won’t lie and say they didn’t start to hurt after 4 hours because they did but if I think about it, I spent over 4 hours wearing heels. That’s an achievement on its own and I am glad I have started to slowly embrace the heels and hope to continue.
I paired my block heels with ripped jeans and simple top and had minimal jewellery as it’s summer and I don’t like to overdo it.
Ladies, how do you feel about wearing heels? Are you up to try and embrace the heels? When was the last time you wore heels?

Melissa Bernardo says
I loved heels when I was in my 20’s. Now, I like comfy shoes 🙂

I am in my late 20’s and loving it even more
Working mum Blog says
I have been clearing my wardrobe today and packed up a few stilettoes that I don’t enjoy wearing anymore. I love to wear heels and never thought about block heels before so will have to investigate. I have been looking for an excuse to go shopping for a while 🙂
Miranda says
Ask and you shall be answered lol, enjoy your shopping
Laura says

Miranda says
So true, they are my new besties

I love heels so much, block heels especially, but I can’t wear them any more (doctors orders) I still love window shopping for them though 🙂 x

I love the look of heels but I never wear them – so used to flats and I am super tall as it is!
Miranda says
Aah bless, you’re never too tall for heels lol
Robin Rue says
I have not been much of a heels person even when I was younger. These look so cute though! If only I could convince myself.
Miranda says
Awww bless, I think you should start small then work your way up lol
Someone's Mum (Danielle) says
Eeek I don’t think you are ever going to convince me. Every pair I have ever put on have been excruciating within a few steps – like bleeding feet painful. I can’t walk in them, I fall over, I feel self-conscious. I really hate even a slight heel! I think the last time I wore a pair was bout 8 years ago before I was married and they were off my feet within minutes of getting where I was going! Some do look very pretty, but they’re just too painful for me!
Miranda says
Awww bless you Hun, I won’t even try to convince you lol if it is as painful as you say
Tanya Brannan says
I absolutely love high heels, but find as I have got older they just cripple me 🙁 I have to stick to my flats for now x
Miranda says
Awww bless you
Emily says
I hated heels for years because I found them so uncomfortable. Then I had to buy a pair for a formal event and bought a pair that was actually comfortable! I really didn’t realize that some are SIGNIFICANTLY more comfortable than others. I still only wear them for formal occasions but it was a really eye opening revelation.
Miranda says
I was like that too before where I thought they were all painful until I tried wedges and blocked heels and I realised I could still rock the heels
emy cooks says
Girl something comfortable is great nothing too high:). If it is dancing or walking heck no, I like to enjoy those momentos. NO pain no gain is gone.hehe
emy cooks says
Girl, I like wearing heels now and then to looks sexy. But if I am going to have a long walk or a bit of dancing I will wear something comfortable cause I love to walk and dance and I do overdo both. a nice comfortable high shoes does wonders.
Miranda says
oh i am with you on that, I am all about comfort and if my heels are not comfortable then no use wearing them but block heels are comfortable for me.
Mauie - The 24-Hour Mommy says
Oh gosh, the closest thing I get to wearing heels is when I wear my 4-inch high wedged sandals. I can’t stand for hours on heels as I get backaches and leg aches after. Good luck on your retraining.
Miranda says
Thank you, any heels you wear that makes you happy is enough
Nicole Escat says

I used to love wearing heels then I had kids…lol When I fell pregnant I became so comfortable in flats that now I have no idea how to walk in heels again. Need to practice at home.

Love this – I am heels crazy but I just can’t keep up with the kids and wear them so I tend to stick to flats 🙁

Yeah it’s easier to wear flats where kids are involved
Kristy @ Mommy Hates Cooking says
I used to wear heels on a regular basis, I would have felt lost without them. But now as I get older and I don’t work outside of the home, I rarely wear them anymore. It is hard to get back in the saddle once you’ve not worn them for awhile!
Miranda says
It is so hard to get back wearing heels after a while hence why I started with medium size then moved to block heels
Emma @ Adventures of a London Kiwi says
Honestly, I’m the world’s laziest dresser, but sometimes the feeling when I slip on a pair of heels makes me reconsider my stance… Also, they say women in business often feel more confident in heels. Despite the bunions…
Miranda says
Aaah the bunions are something else lol
Bethany Naismith says
I love heels! I recently walked 7 hours in a pair of 6 inch heels because I thought I could handle it. Lol, I definitely couldn’t.

Aly Mashrah says
I only ever wear heels if I’m going to a wedding and about mid-way through I just take them off LOL But I do agree that heels have that classiness to them to change any look into something with a little more pizzazz. Even if you’re wearing jeans and a tee with a necklace, you can dress it up with some heels and you have a really nice outfit together!
Miranda says
So true, you can definitely dress use some jeans and tee with a nice pair of heels
Kathy says
I actually don’t wear heels. I do love them though, I just don’t wear them. I’m not very good at walking around in them haha. I need to practice more with them.

Miranda says
I know the feeling hence why I wear block heels that other painful heels

I very rarely wear heels, my co-ordination isn’t good enough! But when I do it has to be a good chunky block heel like these 🙂

Miranda says

Charli says
I used to wear heels all the time and then I broke my leg badly 6 years ago (not a heel related incident) it’s still dodgy to this day so I get really scared about them, even though I love the look of them and own so many pairs! I do wear wedges quite a lot though and own some lovely pairs as I feel more secure in them xx
Miranda says
Oh my goodness, sorry to heel that and glad you sticking to wedges. I wouldn’t risk it either
Jayne @ Sticky Mud and Belly Laughs says

I am totally in love with the idea of a straight leg jean and some sexy heels. I just can’t wear heels like I use to, but you can turn some major heads if you have a confident walk with it.

That you can do Dee, I am loving wearing heels again and turning heads is becoming fun once again
Tami Qualls says
I cannot wear stilettos. My ankles are too weak to support my body. It’s sad because I need the height being only five feet tall. However, I can wear some block heels. I hope these are ones I can wear!
Miranda says
You should definitely wear the block heels then if you like high heels but not sure what to wear
Jessica says
I do believe the confidence that heels can bring but I am not into it until now. I love looking at them but seems they don’t want me to wear them. Haha. I am more in wedges. 🙂

I think if wedges are your thing then stick to them and love them even more
