Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{GBU} THE HAPPENING WEEK EIGHTEEN

lasiguana

Hi there and welcome! This week’s GBU (the Good the Bad and the Ugly) will be shorter than usual and not because nothing happened but because I chose to be lazy than to do anything, I have been feeling so overwhelmed the last couple of months and now that I finally have an assistant at work I feel like I need an assistant with my blog too. I know this fatigue of mine is because I had to cancel the mini getaways I had planned for this month and I am yet to escape to my vacation for the summer. Anyway, such is life and no point dwelling on it but reflecting is allowed and moving forward is encouraged in these parts.

So let’s get down to it

The Good

My little sister graduated last week thursday, I am so proud of her and very proud of my parents. Now all my parent’s children (me, my brother and sister) are all university graduates.

My parents got some really really awesome news this week as well, it’s been a great feeling having all of these wonderful things happening to my family.

More blog opportunities have come my way this month <– this is both good and bad

Yesterday I received a lovely gift card from a client I worked with on the blog. It was a nice surprise and can not wait to use it for my holiday

The Bad

The awesome blog opportunities have caught me at a bad time but I am pulling myself up and keeping up with my deadlines.

Went to the dentist last weekend so had to cancel my mini break to France so gutted.

Fatigue got me big time, I think this is becoming a pattern. Last year around this time I wrote a post on how July carried June Fatigue.

The Ugly

I mentioned I went to the dentist last weekend, I sat in the dentist chair for less than 5 minutes before he said ” Your appointment is only 15 minutes so come back next weekend so we can do a filling for your tooth instead of today”. I was there already and there was no reason he couldn’t do my filling that day he just couldn’t be bothered. ANNOYED ME AS HELL.

So!!! How was your week?

It’s awesome that you are receiving more blog opportunities, but I feel the same way girl. I seem to always get a lot of opportunities when I’m the most stressed and busy! You’ll pull through though!! Keep up the good work!

    Hi Myrabev!
All in all seems that you had a pretty good week, there’s nothing that I love more than receiving good news. My week was kinda crazy, I have a very crazywork schedule that is keeping me busy and beside this, I do have a few deadlines opportunities with my blog that I have to take care.. I really hope that everything will work just fine, as I badly need a vacation.
Wishing you a great week ahead,
    Rally

Myrabev, I SO feel you on the good and bad balance of blogging. I, too, struggle with deadline because I work in an industry that keeps me pretty busy. It’s difficult because I want to grow my blog so much more, but I know that comes with the consequences of pouring a ton of time into it and making sure to not sacrifice work. Congratulations to your family on the exciting things happening!

Keep afloat and stay busy. All of these amazing opportunities are coming because you’re doing something right!

Sounds like a pretty good week, except for the dentist. I can’t believe he couldn’t spend a short amount of time and do your filling. You should have insisted. They work people in all the time. Congrats on your sister graduating and on your blog opportunities. I know those can be a blessing and a curse.

Congrats to your little sister! That dentist was very rude and I wish you had said something to help show that it was unacceptable…

Congratulations to your sister! There are times that I feel so lazy, too. I need to catch up on my deadlines and I need to push myself to do them, or my sponsors will all go away.

That is awful about the dentist doing that you. That sucks you had to cancel some getaways, being an adult sucks sometimes. Congrats on the blog opportunities they can come up at hard times quite often.

Wow! It’s crazy that your dentist couldn’t go ahead and give you your filling. Wonder why he couldn’t just go ahead and do it.

My week has been okay. I’ve been trying to get more serious about blogging and taking care of some things for it that I’ve been procrastinating on. While trying not to pitch my laptop out the window because it’s time for a new one.

First and foremost, congratulations on your blog opportunities. Growing your blog is no easy task, so many kudos to you there. Mini-getaways are definitely needed. A weekend away to take the edge off helps to rebalance and refocus. I know the feelings of being overwhelmed with a “To-do” list a mile long.

Keep trudging away and again congratulations on your accomplishments.

I think we all get slammed with blog projects at a bad time! The thing is to keep moving forward which sounds like you are! Well done! I don’t think anyone worldwide really likes to go to the dentist! I really enjoy reading a summary of your week in this way! It is fun and unique and love reading snippets of other people’s lives!
