Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Monthly Series} November 2017 Goals

November 2017 goals marks the 11th installment of the monthly goal series I started back in 2013. I share goals that I wish to accomplish in the new month and strive to complete them. Personally I function best when I have a daily or monthly to-do list. Setting goals is a great way to plan out your life and its gives some sort of direction. I also have a strong belief that if I don’t succeed its ok to move it forward until I do.

October 2017 GOALS

October started off very promisingly, I thought I would have time for relaxation and travel times. Traveling definitely happened both abroad and locally, see local adventures of where I have been of late. For abroad I was happy to spend a few days in Barcelona and took it in a stride.

Life always has a funny way of throwing curve balls but how we react to them matters. I choose to have a positive outlook on life and work hard to achieve that including goal setting. With that in mind, here is a review of last month’s goals and how I got on.

  • Submit postgraduate assignment – SUCCESSFUL, submitted the last assignment today.
  • Monitor my spending – SUCCESSFUL, with was tough but done it.
  • Budget for travels –  SUCCESSFUL, limited my spending in Barcelona and on local adventures.
  • Enjoy my mini getaway – SUCCESSFUL, I did enjoy Barcelona very much
  • Spend time with family – Partial SUCCESS, spent time with my parents thought not my siblings.

I am so glad to have completed all my goals and excited to be working on the November 2017 goals. I believe in not over committing myself, I prefer to set short achievable goals.

November 2017 Goals

November has always been a busy month for everyone due to the upcoming festive period. I know it will be a super busy month but there are still goals I want to accomplish. Obviously most of them will be related to the festive period and will be helpful to me. Here are some of the October 2017 goals I am hoping to accomplish.

  • Submit postgraduate {pre} assignment – I have another module at the end of the month. I have an assignment to prepare for and practice presenting it.
  • Attend nephew’s 5th birthday party – So my one and only nephew turns 5 this month. We throwing him a Shrek themed birthday party and excited to be attending.
  • Plan for upcoming getaway – I am off to Rome this month end and absolutely excited. I get to tick off another city from my bucketlist for 2017.
  • Plan content weekly – As I said November is a busy month, I am five collaborative posts behind. I need to write and schedule as much as possible.
  • Purchase Christmas presents for the family – check out my tips on how-to get the best present for Christmas.
  • Socializing – since deciding to come off the dating scene, I am playing hermit more. I want to make an effort this month and spend time with my friends.
DO YOU HAVE ANY GOALS FOR NOVEMBER OR THINGS YOU WANT TO DO BEFORE CHRISTMAS?

Great idea to set out your goals like that. Both my kids have their birthday in November, as does my niece, so that’s the month pretty much taken care of for me.

This series is a great idea. I could do with doing something myself. Well done on getting your assignment in. I remember my post-graduate days all too well!
