Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Review} Natural self tanner ~ The Gold Standard

thermalabsWith the sun having left the UK shores rather suddenly and some without a tan, I may just have found us a solution in form of a tanning lotion which claims to be 99% natural and contains avocado oil, olive oil, shea butter and even aloe leaf juice. At first sight the tanning lotion looks just like your everyday body butter but at close inspection it will outstand you to realise it is like body butter but more thicker, more creamier and has a heavenly scent.

This was my first time trying out a tanning lotion, I mean seriously I was born naturally tanned so there really is no need for me to tan but I do love the overall coverage the product offers, it claims to give unto 2 weeks tanning coverage which is a bold statement. This product is made my Thermalabs who are well known in the States but now crossing over the pod and gaining exposure in Europe.

I love the lotion, I love how quickly it gets absorbed in the skin, it’s really easy to use and does not leave any oily residue but might experience some if you come into contact with water immediately after application (personal experience). Thermalabs advises you exfoliate before use and wash your hands before and after use.

I am inclined to agree with Thermalabs bold claims as only credible brands offer 100% money back guarantee if you do not like the products and have checked out some reviews and 90% are pretty awesome.

I think it is a great product and happy to recommend to those who use tanning lotions and wanting to start.

Do you use tanning lotions?

I’ve only ever used tanners twice and they were disastrous.
    Never again lol

Like you I haven’t used self tan before. I have really pale skin so I am always worried that if I used it I would look orange. I do like the sound of this though as my Cyprus tan is now fading a little.

This looks amazing. I love how it is 99% natural. I only usually use a tanning lotion for special occasions but need to start using one more frequently after this summer- my legs are bright white! Great post x

I’ve tried a few lotions over the years but some have made me patchy. I agree that it’s good to see that they do a money back offer. They really must think their product is great to offer this x

Thanks for sharing this awesome product about tanning. I will be sharing this with my sister. My skin is so sensitive that I have to put prescription cream for the summer.

I’ve definitely found that exfoliating makes an enormous difference in how it turns out!

I don’t use tanning lotions. I wish I could!! But they just freak me out. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Every one of them just turns orange or gross. I just thought I had one that worked perfectly but it turned out to be just as lame as the rest.

I don’t use self tanner. Mostly because I’m afraid I’ll come out looking like a tan zebra. But I see now I may need to reconsider.

This looks really fab, I am one of the unlucky few who still looks like a rather anaemic polar bear… Just not enough sun! I will be keeping my eye out for this one!
