{Beauty Review} ASDM’s Vitamin C Serum {GIVEAWAY CLOSED}

 Vitamin C serums are known to encourage collagen production, stimulate renewal of cells, brighten the skin tone, boast texture and improve skin circulation, the best part is that it’s suitable for all skin types. I am yet to try a vitamin c serum that I had not liked. All vitamin C serums I have used have added a glow to my face and prevented any discolouration, this serum is no different. I decided to test with my sister-in-law who is Caucasian and I am African to give our thoughts on the serum.

Don’t forget to check out my other giveaways Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Tepez Cream .

Packaging & Content – I loved the colour of the bottle, it came in a blue glass bottle with a pump top and looked like a posh product you would expect to cost the earth. Now you always have to smell the products you are putting on your face, I mean why wouldn’t you? If you’re going to wear it all day you want to make sure it’s not going to give you a migraine! This particular serum has what can only be described as a “healthy” smell, great for those of you who are after a detox after Christmas and New Year.

Colour & Use – It has kind of milky clear white colour to it which is attributed to concentrated levels of MAP (Vitamin C).It is recommended that you use a pea sized amount on your face twice a day. Now when I first used this, the pump lets out a small amount which I thought was going to be way too small to cover my whole face so I used 2. In actual fact this ended up being too much as it spreads really well, so one pump is plenty. You do however need to be quick to spread it around your face as it absorbs really quickly! Now I know it does say on the bottle that it “rapidly penetrates the skin leaving no oily residue” but I wasn’t expecting it to be quite so good. It really does soak in very quickly and doesn’t feel oily at all.

 Once applied within seconds my skin started feeling a slight tightening which is rather refreshing (and completely normal). So far I am really impressed with this serum; it seems to be doing everything it says it is does.

However now for the real test… it says you can wear your usual face creams and make up over the top of this product but personally I was a bit dubious as I got the feeling that I was wiping it off when applying my moisturizer but gave it the benefit of the doubt and continued doing this for a few days.

I must admit I did not apply it every evening as I kept forgetting and went straight to my night cream out of habit, but when I remembered I did apply this too. After just one week of using this product (maybe slightly less often than I should) I have to say I am very impressed! My skin feels softer, seems to have a healthier glow to it and the areas that sometimes go a bit blotchy/red are already looking better.

Before trying this product I had never tried anything like it, I always stuck to my cleanser, toner and moisturizer but I have to say after seeing the effects of this product in such a short space of time it may just have to become a regular product for my skin care!

The feeling of the product after I have cleansed and pat dried my face is nice, as my sister-in-law said it quickly gets absorbed into the skin and for me I have noticed using it together with the Tepez cream has given me incredible results. I naturally have an oily face but with this serum and the cream my face is less shiny, feels really fresh and moisturizer plus helps my makeup stay on longer than when I don’t wear any serum.

Both me and my sister-in-law highly recommend this product to anyone new to serums or just want to try something new.

Now for the time you’ve been waiting for, the awesome giveaway to win your very own bottle of vitamin c serum.

    If I were lucky enough to win, I would use this myself. My skin is very dry this time of year, especially because I work outside all day one day per week, which really plays havoc with my skin. The recent cold snap with a very cold wind has really done a number on my face, especially my forehead where the skin has become so dry it is actually flaking, so I’d like to find a product that can heal this type of damage, or even better, prevent it happening.

    Again, this would definitely be for me if I won. I am always on the lookout for new skincare products (particularly ones which encourage or stimulate collagen production!). I hadn’t heard of this company until you introduced us to it via your blog (thank you!)

    I’m terrible at using serums and other skin care. Like the blue bottle of this – it’s not a brand I’ve used before.

    I am always so weary of things like this. I have never taken any vitamins or anything. This does sound really good though.

    I am low in Vitamin C so this would be a great way of making sure my skin gets the vitamins I need. I need to purchase the serum and see how it goes.
