Mother’s Day is a mere 2-weeks away and I have been scrambling my brain for the best Mother’s Day gifts that I can gift my mother. I did not think we would still be in lockdown when this Mother’s Day came around but we move. Often, when Mother’s Day rolls around, we spend time with mum at church then have a nice lunch either at home or at a local restaurant. Obviously, this way, things will need to be a little different, we can’t cook for her or treat her to a meal but we can still strive to make this day even more special.
When I was thinking of the best Mother’s Day gifts that I can gift my own mother, I thought of all the things that she would love. My mother is a multi-talented woman that many aspire to be like, I for one want to marry a man like my mother. But because she is so multi-talented, it can often be tough to gift her things that she can’t make herself. The items I have included in this post are those that I know she will absolutely love and I know other mums would love too.

The Best Mother’s Day Gifts
It is a well known fact that mothers have the most unappreciated, underpaid workers out there and requesting a thank you is too much to ask. Until we are grown up and are ones ourselves, you don’t truly appreciate how much work they did until that time. When I was young, I always thought the bank of mummy can never be broke because 90% of the time when I asked, I got it. But as I have grown older, got my own home and finances to manage, I realise my mother is actually a superwoman.
Whilst we appreciate our mother’s every single day, it does not hurt to celebrate them a little extra on this special day. This is why I am been thinking about giving my mum the best Mother’s Day gifts ever. Even though I often struggle with what to get her and it’s much easier just to gift her money, this time round I thought I give it a try and see what I can actually do once I put my mind to it. We won’t be able to meet for a spa break and dinner but that doesn’t mean I can’t still be present through the gifts I give her.
Essential Oil Diffuser
Since the essential oil craze that took over the world a couple years back, my mother got swept up into it and obviously I understand the benefits but it wasn’t truly an appeal for me until this year. Being stuck indoors over the last 12+ months had meant an oil diffuser has become the thing to have to calming effect of the some of the essential oils we use. In my home, I use either vanilla or ylang ylang essential oils because they improve your mood.
Flowers Subscription Service
Like most people, my mother loves her flowers but sometimes we forget to buy them for her so gifting her a flower subscription service that we pay for would mean she would receive flowers regularly. I have flowers all over my house and I always buy fresh flowers every 10 days for my living room as I love looking at them. Because she is often busy with work, I know buying her indoor plants won’t work but a flower subscription service would be ideal.

Silky PJ Set
Who doesn’t like silky pjs? I for one love them and most of my nightwear is made from silk material. Obviously, I do have cotton pjs which I absolutely love for winter months but I think as the weather starts to warm up but not completely hot, the silky PJ set would be perfect – as they are light enough but also retain heat. Although I am not sure she will wear them at home all the time but I know whenever we travel or when she comes over to mine she will.
Temperature Control Smart Mug
My mother and I, have this tendency of making a nice brew and completely forgetting about it then when we do, it’s completely cold. This is why I think a temperature control mug would make such an amazing gift for my mum (and me). Temperature control smart mugs are a new thing for me but I do love that you can keep your tea warm for an hour or all day if the mug is connected to a charger. You can control the mug on your phone wirelessly and keep the brew at the temperature of your choice.
Bathtub Tray Caddy
Like mother like daughters, we enjoy our baths in my family like its no man’s business and this is why I know my mum would love a bathtub tray caddy. I have one already and so does my sister and we rave about them to mum because we spend hours in the tub either reading or watching movies on our devices. For my mum she just enjoys a nice long soak to wash away the day’s stress, as you know being a nurse is stressful enough on a normal day but even tougher in the current climate.
I hope these 5 of the best Mother’s Day gifts give you an idea of what you can get for your mum or better yet for yourself. I believe in treating myself and though for many mums this is the last thing on their minds, it is so important to remember to treat yourselves because you deserve the world and more. You have given so much already and continue to but also remember to treat yourself because we need you happy and healthy.

These are some really lovely ideas. I have a flower subscription with a local florist and had thought about sending her a bouquet from them but not actually gifting her a subscription that might be a good idea!
