France is one of Europe’s most important nations situated Northwest of the continue and is home of the Eiffel Tower, crepes and macaroons I invite you to travel with me to France. Over the last several years of solo travel, I have been to the republic of France many times with the majority of my visits being to Paris. France is home to some of the best cuisines in the world as well as medieval cities and bound by the Mediterranean Sea as well as the Atlantic Ocean.

On this edition of travel with me, I invite you to travel with me to France, a county considered to be one of the world’s oldest nations. France is a country that is on every travellers bucket list and with good reason, it has a diverse culture. Whether you are an art lover, chasing the world-famous gastronomy or just want to visit the picturesque villages, France has it all. As part of the travel with me to France edition, I will share the cities I have visited and my recommendations.

Travel With Me To France – Travel Tuesday

As a frequent traveller and weekender, I always find myself feeling like I need to explore the cities I visit with more than one visit. This is evident with the amount of visits I have made to the French capital, I feel there is still more of the city that I am yet to discuss. But I didn’t not want to limit my experience of France to just cover Paris so I ventured afield. 

In this week’s travel with me to France edition, I will highlight all the places across France that I have had the pleasure of exploring and places that I can not wait to explore once the pandemic is more manageable. Whilst my travel bucket list is constantly evolving and growing, I still want to visit places I have already been to before.

Travel with me to France and explore Paris + Disneyland, Toulouse, Nice, Eze Village and Marseille.

Paris + Disneyland

Paris, the home of the iconic Eiffel Tower statue and 1.9 kilometres of the champs-élysées street. Whilst Paris boosts and bathes in these iconic places its also home to Disneyland Paris, where the magic happens. For as long as I can remember I had always wanted to visit Disneyland Paris and was so happy when an opportunity finally presented itself and having visited Paris many times I knew I would focus my attention on things I didn’t do the first time around. If you ever in Paris and wondering what else you can do outside of eating at cute cafes, climbing the Eiffel Tower then try exploring the city via boat. 

Toulouse – the pink city

Toulouse is one of the largest cities in France dubbed the ‘Pink City’ or La Ville Rose – Rose meaning pink. The majority of the buildings are made from terra-cotta bricks but looking around you don’t really see the pink colour. Toulouse is the fourth largest city in France but the locals consider Toulouse to be a large village with a feel of the city.

Nice – The French Riviera

Nice, a city located in the south of France and capital of the French Riviera with enviable Mediterranean weather. I had always wanted to visit the south of France and when a cheap flight fell into my inbox I knew I had to visit this gorgeous city and soak up the sun. There is so much that I want to recommend you do in the French Riviera but in all honesty I found myself lying on the pebbled beach and eating my way through the city.

Recommendation: I definitely recommend visiting Castle Hill for the most insane views but be warned, its a hick up.

Eze Village

Eze Village is a medieval village nestled on the hilltop facing the Mediterranean Sea on the French Riviera. It’s located nicely between Nice in France and the principality of Monaco. Because of its location overlooking a high cliff 1401+ feet above sea level, it’s also called the eagle’s nest. The beauty of Eze Village lies in the many narrow streets, art galleries and the mini tourist shops. The main attraction apart from the impeccable views, an advantage of being so high up. 

Recommendation: I recommend visiting the Fragonard perfume factory, one of the best experiences I ever had in this part of France.

Marseille

Marseille or Marseilles in English is the second-largest French city on the Mediterranean and capital of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Founded on circa 600 BC, Marseille is the sunniest city in France due to the Mediterranean climate. The city is a melting point of various cultures from the Romans, the Greeks and others. Later the former French colonies have been added to the mix and a large population stemming from North Africa.

Recommendation: I recommend visiting the Lady of our Guard or Notre-Dame de la Garde

I love visiting France and once its safe to travel, I want to return to Nice then Toulouse as I enjoyed my visits to these two gorgeous cities big time. I hope you enjoyed travelling with me to France and hope I inspired you to explore at least once of these cities.
