Knowing what vitamins your body needs at any given time can be quite a daunting task. This is why I am sharing the vitamins I am taking in my 30s, in hopes of helping someone out there find a starting point. If you are unsure about where to buy the vitamins you need, then may I suggest you buy vitamins online from Just Vitamins? You can shop for supplements based either on your health goal or current health needs. I worked with my wellness coach and consulted with my GP about the vitamins I am taking to make sure it was right for my health needs.
As I have grown older, I have realised the importance of taking care of my health through exercise, eating well, and supplementing with vitamins. There are so many people online (including myself) talking about ‘vitamins you should be taking’, but I am taking a different approach and sharing what vitamins I’m taking in my 30s. The reason I am doing this is to serve as a guinea pig and also to encourage everyone to consult their doctor before taking advice online from people they don’t know. Don’t take supplements for the sake of it, but rather to supplement where you might be lacking.

What Vitamins I’m taking in my 30s
I only have 2 years left in my 30s before I turn 40, and whilst I am excited about that, I wanted to share the vitamins I’m taking in my 30s, or shall I say the ones I have been taking in the third decade of my life. Before having a wellness coach, I used to pick and choose which vitamins I wanted to take without much thought or consultation with a healthcare professional. Now, I make a point of consulting both based on my current health needs and preparing myself for the later years in life.
I must reiterate that the vitamins I’m taking in my 30s are not a recommendation on what you should be taking. Your body might not be deficient in them and therefore not required, which is a good thing, and if unsure, consult your local GP. I also recommend having a full body check, including bloods, to thoroughly check what supplements your body might need. The operative word here is ‘supplement’, not ‘replacement’; vitamins are to supplement, not replace, what your body needs. Below, I list out a few of the vitamins I’m taking in my 30s.
- Vitamin D: This vitamin is essential for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation. As we age, our skin’s ability to synthesize vitamin D from sunlight decreases, so it’s important to consider supplements or vitamin D-rich foods like fatty fish, fortified dairy products, and egg yolks.
- Vitamin B12: Vital for energy production, brain health, and red blood cell formation, vitamin B12 is found in animal products like meat, fish, and dairy. If you’re vegetarian or vegan, you might need to consider fortified foods or supplements.
- Folate (Vitamin B9): Folate is crucial for cell division and the formation of DNA. It’s especially important for women of childbearing age to prevent neural tube defects during pregnancy. Leafy greens, legumes, and fortified cereals are good sources.
- Vitamin C: Known for its immune-boosting properties, vitamin C also aids in collagen production, which is important for skin health. Citrus fruits, strawberries, bell peppers, and broccoli are excellent sources.
- Vitamin E: This antioxidant helps protect cells from damage and supports immune function. Nuts, seeds, and green leafy vegetables are rich in vitamin E.
Do you take any of the vitamins I have mentioned above?
