Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.
••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Monthly Roundup} August 2017 Fashion Favourites

August 2017 Fashion Favourites, a monthly roundup of all the outfit ideas I have shared throughout August. This roundup is the eighth installment for 2017 but the 22nd installment since I started back in December 2015. Regular readers of A July Dreamer know how much I love sharing outfit ideas. I am a true believer in the statement that ‘Fashion fits all’, find your style and work it. Don’t compare how an outfit looks on someone to how it should look on you, people are different and unique. Work the thing that makes you unique and don’t be sorry about it.

Fashion Favourites

August has been such a busy month but I have no idea what exactly I have done to be honest. It’s crazy to think July was a very busy month but so was August and now it’s almost over. 2017 has been a year flying right by and if you’re not careful you might find you’ve missed it altogether. I have decided that for the remainder of the year, I will be more intentional with my time. Life seems to have plans on its own so why fight what I can’t change but embrace the new. With that, here is the roundup on the August 2017 Fashion Favourites.

August 2017 Fashion Favourites

I then shared with you how I do off-shoulder styling, because they are in fashion and I love that. It’s weird to think I avoided off shoulder tops and dresses because I didn’t think they suited me. But then as faint would have it I tried a couple and I was hooked. All I needed to do was find tops that would suit my body frame and that was it.

British summer is not for the faint hearted, I put together a British Summer Capsule because we need one. Summer here is not the same as elsewhere and it is important to always be prepared for it. We often dress for Autumn but ready to take off a bit to enjoy the little sun and cover up for the chills.

Because I just haven’t had enough yet of off shoulder styling, I styled this ruffled bell top. These are so easy to style and can be worn to different occasions and still love smart. You can casually dress them when running errands, look cute without trying.ruffled bell top

And to end of the month I thought I put together Autumn Fashion Must Haves and Fall Wardrobe Essentials. I know it’s crazy to be sharing fall essentials already but we only got a few weeks left before its Autumn. Some of us in the UK have already started to feel the breeze sweep in.

Men’s Fashion, Wishlist and Guest Post

Though rarely done, I out together men’s fashion ideas and shared the new belts from Kinzd. The company was kind enough to gift me to men’s belts which I then sent to my brother and to my dad. They are both so impressed with them I am happy to have collaborated with Kinzd. Check them out on my side bar to pick something up for the men in your life.

Summer was in full swing in most parts of the UK, I say this because it wasn’t even. Melanie of Melanie’s Finds to shared her favourite summer sandals, I am a sucker for flat shoes these days. Her choices where not far from my own and loved that about the guest post.

As it was my sister’s 25th birthday this month, I asked her to share her wishlist. Obviously it wasn’t one I could afford but I was able to get her something else. But since my sister is like me she got the items on her own wishlist herself. We are fiercely independent women and often don’t wait on no one to fulfill our desires when we are capable.

And there you have it, the August 2017 Fashion Favourites rounded up to share what you might have missed. Which was your favourite outfit I shared this month?

I LOVE the look of off-the-shoulder tops, but I don’t think I could pull them off myself as I have a curved spine which pushes one of my shoulders up higher than the other 🙁

British weather sounds like Texas weather. Blistering hot one minute amd getting hit by a hurricane the next to sunshine and rainbows and cloudy the next. I love all the pants and shorts. The off shoulder shirts are super cute.

I can see the off the shoulder shirts are popular lately. I just am worried I would fidget in them. I love the design though!
