Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

{Monthly Roundup} August 2018 Sponsors

August 2018 Sponsors is a monthly roundup post where I highlight the various collaborations I had in August. At the end of each month I dedicate an article to the brands and companies I had the opportunity to collaborate with. I have been blogging for over 5 years and I can tell you blogging requires sacrifice and its hard work. But at the end of the day, it is totally worth the sacrifice and if money is made, its even so much better.

The August 2018 Sponsors roundup is the eighth dedication post of 2018 thanking my Sponsors. A July Dreamer we collaborate with a variety of brands and companies. Visit our Work with Me page to find out our fees and types of collaborations we offer. Thank you, everyone, for supporting the brands that support me.

August 2018 Sponsors Roundup

Every month I sit down and take stock of all the wonderful blessings that blogging has brought me. Back in 2013 when I started out, I could not have foreseen the fruits of my blogging labour. I am so glad I stuck with it and grew (still growing and learning) every single day.

Normally when I share the roundup of all the collaborations, I split them into categories. A July Dreamer is a UK Travel, Fashion and Lifestyle blog with a heavy focus on weekend adventures. I like to focus on those groups and collaborations that fit into these themes.

Travel Collaborations

As a frequent traveler, I am often looking out for content on travel especially to places of personal interest. There are definitely a lot of places that I would love to visit but can’t do them all. Instead I am living through my fellow travellers by reading or publishing their content. Recently I received content on The Best Waterpark Hotels in Europe, I have never been to one but it’s on my bucket list. This is a good example of places of personal interest as I would love to take my nephew one day.

Another thing that I love when I travel to new places is to buy keepsakes. I started off with fridge magnets but I have now run our of space and decided to change up my collectables. Landscape pieces of places I have visited quickly became my new type of keepsake and been buying them all.

A few weeks ago an opportunity presented itself in a from of Alvar Carto a Finnish company who design unique map posters. I quickly fell in love with the map posters they produced and wanted one of my hometown. They offer map posters for device wallpaper and posters to hang on the wall. One  of my most memorable solo trips was to Aalborg in Denmark, it made sense to have a map poster of it. This city is one I would love to live in if I ever got the chance, I would move.

  • ESSENTIAL CAR MAINTENANCE TIPS

Lifestyle Collaborations

As a fairly new driver myself, I know how daunting the thought of a car break down can be. Especially for those of us how are not knowledgable of how the car dynamics work outside of driving. I am fortunate that my father continues to teach us about the importance of car maintenance and regular car serving. This is one of the best ways you can ensure you car doesn’t or rarely ever breaks down.

When I was young I was always curious about perfumes for different occasions. Then I grew up and started getting more curious about wearing different perfumes during different seasons. Last year I started changing perfumes per season but not for any particular reason, just because I felt like it. I have a few fragrances that I love during the spring and summers months then come autumn I prefer other ones. But rarely did I ever consider what perfumes work best in what season, now, its something I am hoping to start this year.

And there you have it, the wonderful collaborations we had here on A July Dreamer. We also worked with Peperami who provided us with tickets to visit Alton Towers. A review of our visit to Alton Towers will be shared on the blog in a few weeks time. In the mean time, thank you to everyone we worked with and thanks for supporting the brands that support me.
