I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. The Casual Outfit – Pink in Autumn

Pink in Autumn is not completely unheard of but it’s not completely common colour during this time is it? Autumn colours are often thought to be dark and bold colours like browns and bold orange to mention a few. I for one never really follow the seasonal trends and love trying colours that are not often associated with the season. As much as I love the hues of orange and brown in Autumn I also crave other colours to brighten my mood.

Pink in Autumn
Pink in Autumn

Wearing pink in Autumn gave me such a buzz, Pink is such a lovely and beautiful colour. I don’t own many pink items in my closet, in fact the top in the casual outfit is the only one. Of course I have pink knickers, who doesn’t but that is as far as my love for pink coloured items go. For accessories, I do have a few items including the JustFab handbag I got a few months back.

The Casual Outfit – Pink in Autumn

Now that we’ve established why I am loving wearing pink in Autumn, let’s talk about the outfit. Whilst discussing the outfit I should mention I wore it whilst exploring Basildon Park and tasting wine at Veeno. You could say neither of these occasions called for wearing pink but one must always take chances.

Pink in Autumn

Pink in Autumn

I picked up the pink top in Primark when my sister and I went to explore Bristol a few weeks back. What drew my attention was the simple but explicit lace detail on the front and the arms. I also loved that the sleeves of this gorgeous top are slightly ruffled but not too much to disturb the flow of the top. The length was perfect and the sleeves made it an autumnal item in my closet. I had originally assigned this top to my work wardrobe (yes I separate work and private life clothes). But I decided to move it over to my private life clothes as it was see through for work and not appropriate. Of course I wore a camisole inside but it somehow distorted the appear of the top and I knew I should add anything inside.

Putting together the outfit

I knew what I had planned for the day and I still wore pink in Autumn with no regrets. When it comes to putting outfits together I don’t struggle, I know what works for me and what doesn’t. I am still working on what colours look best with my skin tone but for now Pink equals yes column. Because I knew the weather could change any minute I decided I would pair the top with ripped jeans and leather jacket. The shoes were a bit of a disaster to begin with because when exploring the Basildon Park estate grounds. This was not a smart plan on my part as the pinkish coloured flats got slightly dirty. Thankfully it was only water and grass and less on the mud which the shoes still endured.

Knowing that my next destination was Veeno Reading for our Wine Tasting experience I kept my shoes clean and off the grass. When drinking wine I try to avoid wearing bright colours in case I spill some on myself. And yes on this occasion I did spill but not the wine, the olive oil. I was so careful with drinking the wine I neglected to be careful when dipping the bread in olive oil. If anyone has tips on how to remove oil from clothes, please share in the comment section below.

Finishing touches to the casual outfit

To complete the Casual Outfit I chose to add this duo coloured handbag from JustFab, a recent purchase. I just love how bright it is inside and how very cool it is, this helped to balance the outfit. What I love about this bag is how spacious it is for me. I carry all my person items including my camera when I am out and about. It’s my new go to bag for running errands or when I am out and about indulging in Local Adventures.

When an outfit has enough going for it, I don’t like to over accessorize it too much. Just adding this wood watch from Konifer was enough and when it got chilly I added the scarf to keep me warm.

And there you have it folks, this is how I wear pink in Autumn. As mentioned previously, I love injecting colour in my wardrobe and wear it whenever regardless of the season. So, what do you think of this outfit? Do you wear certain colours that might be considered ‘out of season’ or not? What do you think about my outfit?

I’m not big on the ripped jeans but I haven’t tried wearing a pair so who knows if I actually would like it. By the way, I think pink is totally your color!

The wonderful thing about clothes is that you can pair them however you wish, I think. I was standing a queue yesterday and there were three men in a row wearing pink t-shirts. Just an observation. 🙂
