The Thames River is the second longest river in the United Kingdom after Severn but the longest in England. It runs through the southern part of England but most notably in London.
It’s Sunday and I have only one item on my agenda for the day, go cruising on the River Thames with my sister. Nothing else was on the cards, just that one item but knowing my sister there would be more. And more there was, we managed to finish the cruise on the Thames and head off to Oxford Street for some shopping. But prior to all this happening I needed to figure out what to wear to London. As you know I am an advocate for first dressing comfortably and style comes second. Where you can achieve both effortlessly then go for it, fashion fits everyone.
A Day out on the Thames
The most comfortable items of clothing I own outside my pajamas has to be skinny jeans. I feel you can never go wrong with dressing skinny jeans as I feel they go with almost everything. Personally when in doubt about outfits I go black, as you can never go wrong with black. Once I have chosen the black items, I think of items that I want to pair with that. For the Day out on the Thames, I opted for blue skinny jeans, black long-sleeved top, pink long cardigan and pink canvas.
What I love about this simple outfit is how comfortable and warm it is. I paired this outfit is a leather jacket and heavy scarf but rarely had them on because I was feeling warm enough. This outfit is one that I have replicated many times, with many colours and has not failed me yet. You could go all out with this outfit and pair with ankle boots instead of canvas. You could remove the leather jacket and pair with a mac jacket or long belted coat, possibilities are endless.

I love going home and visiting London now! I admit though, I guess because I lived there, I never thought to go on the Thames cruise as it seemed something for Tourists (not in any kind of bad way) just money-wise as a student there. Next time I go back, I’ll have to add it to my to-do list.

I have never been to London but this would be something I’d love to visit. A lot of period books I read talk about how the Thames was so bad back in the old days with it being a place to dump bodies! Yikes! Watching shows set in London really makes me want to visit too!
Annemarie LeBlanc says
I would love to visit London again sometime. It is such a beautiful and romantic city. Next time I visit I will have to ask my cousin who lives there to take me on a tour on the Thames. BTW, I love your outfit. I agree with you that the basic jeans and black blouse can be mixed and matched with different jackets and shoes and still turn out looking chic.
