Looking back at each decade, I feel both ‘older’ and ‘younger’, I see the change in my features, the change in my way of life, the change in my personality and the experience itched on my face. I am grateful for the life I have lived thus far and excited for the life I am yet to live.

2026 - 39, (Home, England), I am ready for this final year before my 40s but also ready for this next decade.
2016 - 29, (Oslo, Norway), this decade was about self discovery and building the life I dreamt about. The life that I am super proud of and truly grateful to be living. This decade, I built my financial life and in later years choose to heal from the trauma gained in the last decade and now I feel well equipped for the future.
2006 - 19, (Glasgow, Scotland), I thought I was grown (look at the cheekbones 🤣🤣) and ready for the world, chiiiild was I wrong, let’s just say, I am still resolving the trauma the decade brought me but I am grateful because I met my best friends and made decisions for the future I wanted to have. (Spoiler alert - I did better than I dreamed).
1996 - 9, (Home, Zambia) this was my birthday but my little sister insisted she had to be the one in the middle. The only way we knew whose birthday it was, was by standing in the middle but this year I remember baby sister crying her eyes out and refusing 🤨
1988 - 9 months, (Chililabombwe, Zambia) although my mother looks tired and traumatised😟, I know I was loved and happy.

Perfect Gifts For Father’s Day

Sponsored

While you may often put a lot of effort into find the right gift for Valentine’s Day, Father’s Day is another day that allows you to show your man just how much you appreciate him. Since Father’s Day occurs in June, it means you can get something that deals with the outdoors, which allows you to expand your gift-giving options. If there’s someone special in your life you want to impress or pamper this Father’s Day, then here’s a list of perfect gift ideas you should consider to make his day.

Perfect gift for Father's Day

Roof Top Tent

If your man loves camping, why not go the extra mile and get him a roof top tent? These tents sit on top of the roof of your vehicle, which makes camping way more fun (and way safer). Being on top of your vehicle means you’re not sleeping on the ground or subject to encroachment by wild animals or insects.

Plus, sleeping on the roof of your car is much more comfortable than the ground. According to https://roofnest.com/roof-top-tent/, “The Roofnest brand is dedicated to providing a comfortable, safe, and unique camping experience, and one of our products will make your camping experience truly unique.”

Monthly Subscription

There are a lot of things your man likes, so why not get him a monthly subscription to something he cares for? The beer of the month clubs, cigar of the month clubs, food of the month clubs, etc. – basically whatever your loved one is into there’s a club for, so you can deliver them a monthly subscription that makes them happy. Do some research to see what other monthly subscriptions are available in your price range or that would make sense for your loved one, and then use that to pick the right gift.

Experience Gifts

Instead of buying your loved one a gift that they only use once (or maybe even not at all), you should consider getting them an experience gift. These gifts are the gifts of experiences, such as getting them tickets to a concert or a sporting event, taking them on a tour of a local brewery, or even visiting a museum or some place that interests them. These experience gifts often go over well because it creates memories that last a long time (just be sure to take plenty of pictures).

Personalized Gift

There’s something about a gift that’s personalized that makes it so much better. Whether it’s just adding your loved one’s name to a specific gift or having something special engraved or added to it, a personalized gift can go a long way. Visit Etsy shopsto find some great personalized gift ideas, from those that include gifts in your kids’ handwriting to those that add your wedding date to a keychain or wedding band. Finding ways to personalize a gift he’ll love will make that gift so much extra special, and it will certainly make that gift stand out as one of his favorites.

Practical Gifts

While it may not seem exciting, sometimes giving him a practical gift is what matters most. For instance, think about all the things he may need that he won’t buy himself, or things that he just often runs out of, and then buy him that. Practical gifts may be a better gift than you realize, as it shows just how much you care and pay attention to what he needs. Things like socks, undershirts, bandanas, or even gas gift cards have a way of saying “I love you” that cannot be shown in other ways.

Outdoor Fun

Most guys like to spend time outside, whether it’s going camping, playing sports, or just hanging out on the patio. Think about all the fun things your favorite man likes to do outside and then get him a gift that corresponds to that, such as a new grill kit, a new patio set, a beer cooler, a new set of golf clubs, etc. Take some time to think about the outdoor things your man likes to do and what outdoor things he may need (or could use) to go along with that outdoor fun, and then get a gift that makes sense.

Father’s Day is a day to show the dads in your life just how much you care, and the men in your life don’t need to be difficult to buy for. If you’re looking for great Father’s Day gifts, consider all of the items on this list and use them as starting points to come up with the idea that makes sense for your man.

I often struggle with knowing what to get my husband from our children, he’s not really into ‘stuff’ however he does like an experience day so I think I may look into this for this year.

I usually just send my dad a card, he lives overseas. But my boys want to do something special for their dad, so maybe we’ll make a cake or something.

My cousin used to have a WWII Landrover and he used to take his then-girfriend roof top camping. It was so cool, they’d even have the dog up there! They took it all over the world with them – they’re definitely worth the money. 🙂
